Home remedies for menstrual cramps

Question Posted Sunday February 5 2012, 9:36 pm

I get really bad cramps when I'm on my period. I was just wondering if anybody knew any home remedies or tips for when it gets really bad. Thanks in advance for all answers!

~Hot water bottle/heat pad.
~Gentle exercise like walking or yoga.
~Taking a warm bath.
~Breathing techniques.
~Herbal remedies such as herbal tea. I have Chamomile and Peppermint here at home. You can find it at your local supermarket or health store. Other herbal teas that are supposed to be good for menstrual cramps are Ginger, Peppermint and Raspberry tea leaf.

Heat up a tortilla and lay it on your belly.

Drink Pickle Juice.

Stay heated.

Take advil.

Eat a banana.

And that's all i got. This might sound rediculous but it does work.

After years of trial an error I found that a healthy diet really works along with hot water bottle if at home or heatpack if out and about.

Hot tea and a heating pad! Works every time. Avoid taking baths, Water will only make the flow worse. Stick to showers until your period is over.

It's hard to make them go away but it helps if you drink lots of waters, eat vegtibles and lay back more.
