Keep it trimmed short & take showers instead of baths. Do not douche. This is only something that will make the odor worse & can be unhealthy. Women need a GOOD BACTERIA that we all have in the inside of the vagina as well as our intestines. Douching, soaking in a bath, swimming, taking certain antibiotics & other things may take the good bacteria from the vagina &/or intestines & cause a yeast infection. Then the problem is worse, of course. Go to your doctor if not done so already & make sure you are tested for any type of infection. All women are different - but some odors, especially accompanied by certain discharge, are signs of infection. Start with your doctor ...

Well you can shave it. I just use a regular razor and they have stuff called Vagisil. I think its wonderful you have to use it everytime you shower. Its not real expensive.

I don't recommend using scissors or an electric razor like Flare suggested, Whatever you do please use a NON cut women's razor. Scissors are dangerous, Using scissors to trim pubic hairs can take a risk of snipping or cutting yourself...and with a pair of scissors I would imagine that'd hurt like a son of a gun.

This is non cut and about 9 bucks at Walmart. Razor refills are about 20 bucks for a 4 pack.
Also, If you wear lace or thongs try to keep it for special occasions only. Lace traps odor and thongs aren't exactly meant to help with hygiene either. Also, If you wear panties try to stick with 100% cotton.

flare gave you the how to as far as caring for yourself. Before I add to what flare said and since you omitted your age; your question leads me to believe you may be on the younger side of teenage life. In which case I must advise in all good consciousness that you consider waiting until you are a much older teen before having sex.
The last thing you want as a young teenage girl is to get a reputation around school as being easy. They say girls can't keep a secret and are big gossips. Wrong; when it comes to sex boys have to tell there buds that they had sex. Their buds tell someone else and soon it is viral around school that you are easy. You may not be but that is the message that goes out. Then of course ther is pregnacy and STDs to worry about.
Now certain smells are natural and are found attractive to the opposite sex. Have you watch animals when they greet each other. The first thing they try to do is smell the nether region of the other animal. They do so because the scent tells them if they can mate with this animal. It is not much different with the human animal.
In our odors are something called pheromones (fer-moans). These are hormones or chemicals if you like that attract the opposite sex. While you may find them offensive to yourself, a male may find them extremely attactive. I do agree with flare that if the odor is foul smelling that you have your doctor check for infection. If the doctor says nothing is wrong and does not suggest anything to mask the odor then don't. Just follow the hygiene suggestions that flare gave you.

Hello.
One of the first steps can be to trim the hair, with either an electric trimmer, or with scissors (be VERY VERY VERY careful). This creates less surface area for bacteria growth (which releases an odour). You can go further by shaving if you wish. Do this by first trimming the hair very short, and then bathing to soften the hair. With a sharp razor, shave the hair along the direction of the growth. Use plenty of shaving foam/cream/gel.
Of course, you MUST wash everyday with soap and warm-hot water. Do not just clean the outside of the vagina. Clean inside. Use something like a loofah.
Be sure to drink plenty of water also. This flushes out the toxins in your body (which release odur).
Be sure to wipe well after using the bathroom. You may also choose to use a wet, feminine wipe designed for your vagina.
You may choose to shower just before sex, to ensure you are 100% clean.
If the problem persists, and the smell is particularly offensive, be sure to contact a doctor as it may be a sign of an infection.
