I rarely take vacation time off, because I feel like it's going to the waste :( Finally, I feel overwhelmed and decided to take a week off. Now, nobody can travel with me anywhere, and I feel like if to not take that time off afterall.
My question is, should I just get over my fear and travel alone? if so, where?
Or should I just work and wait until a vacation opportunity arises?
HELP, I'm sooo confused and feel bad that I can't enjoy life and travel cause I ain't got anyone to do it with :(
Cruises: Many Cruise Lines offer special rates for singles in off season cruises. Cruising is a great way to relax, see some interesting places, be pampered and meet interesting people.
Club Vacations. Look into Club Med or Clubs like them. My son took a club Med vacation and loved it. Met some great women, learned to scuba dive, something he continues to do today and is now a member of a volunteer water rescue team. Like cruising it was an all inclusive vacation other than the scuba diving, which he paid for in advance. Once he landed on their island he paid for nothing out of pocket.
If all you want to do is sit on a beach and relax, eat great food and be pampered. Talk to a travel agent about a Caribbean Island vacation such as Aruba, Jamaica, Bermuda or the Bahamas.
Make sure to buy vacation interruption insurance, and that your health insurance will cover you outside the country. Most of the vacation insurance packages include health coverage and the insurance is inexpensive and well worth the cost. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]

remember, not being at the work place is relaxaition in itself. so even if youre at home and finally get yourself to do what you have wanted to do will be rewarding in the end! it can be a change to get to that hobby you wanted?
you can take a cooking class?
you can check out whats new in your neighborhood and write about it?or volunteer in an orphanage or the salvation army...(which will make you feel even more useful even on a holiday!)
now regarding travel-
its an adventure BUT you have to be prepared in a sense that-
1) get travel and health insurance
2) know the places to visit, the weather, the culture and customs etc. to maximize your time and really experience it!
3) get to know the sale rates of airlines too!
there are lots to research for you to have a relaxing yet fruitful learning experience abroad and to welcome whatever comes your way..
its still fun to have a friend with you (cause, who's gonna take YOUR photos!???)just kidding, but even if youre alone you will be fine....
have a good week!
so many to do [ annabanana's advice column | Ask annabanana A Question ]
yibelle answered Friday August 19 2011, 4:00 am: I would go for it! Travel alone, face your fears.
When i think of a vacation i think of relaxation, you will be able to be at a tranquil peace of mind. You might discover things about yourself on this trip alone.
I think its a great opportunity, you can always mingle with people at the destination. I would recommend perhaps the caribbean or Florida. [ yibelle's advice column | Ask yibelle A Question ]
Eunice101 answered Friday August 19 2011, 12:26 am: Don't let your fears take over your life, be bold and travel alone. Since this is probably your first time traveling, you don't want to go anywhere to far like Jamaica and tropical islands. You can have a road trip to the states. But if you want some serious time off you can go to Mexico, it's not to far and you can get there by plane easily. Just have a pocket translator just in case.
