more muscle, less fat.

Question Posted Monday July 11 2011, 11:33 pm

I am a 13 year old girl and I'm about 5'2 or 5'3 and I weigh about 119 pounds. it may not seem bad but I think my thighs are fat or on the larger size. Does anyone know how to get thinner thighs or ones with more muscle? and is my body weight proportional to my height and age and everything? all help is good! :) thanks.

Hey! Wow 5'2 - 5'3? You're about my height! LOL, but I'm short. To answer you question, walking, doing leg crunches, and jogging will thin your leg out. Avoid hilly areas. What you want is a lot of repetition with less weight, that's how you get toned legs that are not butch. Anyway weight depends on muscle and fat, as you already know. BUT, muscle weighs more than fat. So, for example, if you're holding the same amount of fat on one arm, and the same amount of the muscle on the other arm they look the same, but they're going to weigh differently. The muscle is going to be a lot heavier.I just thought I should let you know that in case you decided to work out and discovered that you were gaining weight. Also judging by your age and weight, you're perfectly fine! And if you want to keep track of yourself then you can visit this page. It basically shows you the average for certain age groups for weight.

You sound perfectly healthy, my friend! If you become worried that you're gaining weight at all you should remember that you're only 13 and that people gain some weight before a growth spurt. I suggest exercising 30+ minutes per day 3 days per week if you would like to slim your thighs; try biking or running.

your weight is good for your age and height. Just like the other person said, bike, walk, swim, run, all of those things tones your legs especially thighs.

and 1 more thing to add- considering you're 13, you're just starting puberty. As you may already know, girls get wider hips when they go through puberty. So when you look in the mirror, you may think you have big thighs.. but know the difference between big thighs and big hips. sometimes big hips creates the illusion of big thighs.

The easiest way to lose fat in the thighs is to either ride a bike or just walk. And yes your weight is perfect for your height.
