As far as sugar goes, the first 24 hours are the hardest. After that, you don't crave it as much anymore. Furthermore, the cravings you get are often result from your body lacking a particular nutrient.
julie75 answered Friday June 10 2011, 1:50 pm: Quitting cold turkey probably won't happen but cutting down a little bit at a time, is a little more realistic goal. Do your best to keep it out of the house and make sure you're full when you go grocery shopping. Buy more fruits and veggies or even peanuts or cheese as an alternative snack. Don't carry any change with you so you won't be tempted to hit the vending machines. Try to make sure you're full after each meal so the snacking temptation will be a little less.
