There's no need to do anything special.
Washing your vagina in the shower as you would normally is fine. Don't be overzealous with your cleaning, as this strips the vagina of its natural good bacteria which can actually encourage yeast infections. You might like to try a soap designed for use around the vagina, as these will be milder. There is no need to 'douche'. ]
I wouldn't douche at all.
If you went to the doctor & they gave you medicine, take it like you were instructed, & the infection should clear up. If you bought over the counter medication, do the same thing. If it doesn't clear up, see your doctor.
After the infection is cleared up, be weary that the summertime is the worst time to get yeast infections. When you swim, take your wet bottoms off as soon as you get out of the water. Bacteria thrive in moist environments, so keep yourself dry. Wear loose fitting clothing whenever you can so your vagina can breathe, for lack of a better word. If you wear pads during your period, be sure to change them frequently. Eat a lot of yogurt too. It helps prevent yeast infections. And lastly, don't use scented body wash. Never wash up inside of you either. Clean around the area, but not up inside of you. The good bacteria is what keeps you clean, so let it do it's job! ]
Once the infection is cleared up, use a light douche. Nothing scented. Just get the plain water and vinegar mix. NEVER douche more than once a week. It can clear out all the good bacteria that your body needs to keep balanced and that can cause another yeast infection. ]
