I feel like an outsider sometimes with this. Like I absolutely love death metal, heavy metal, and various other kinds of metal. Then I can deeply enjoy country, pop, punk, and rap. I like everything and people call me weird because I like metal, like Chimaira and In Flames kinda metal, then switch the song to pop like Taylor Swift, or Katy Perry.
christina answered Monday August 10 2009, 6:18 am: I don't think that's weird. You just like everything out there, and there's nothing wrong with that. :)
Everyone has different musical tastes. Some people will listen to anything, and some people will listen to anything within a genre & it's sub genres. It just varies from person to person. But there's nothing wrong or weird about it. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]
SpecialxKxlove answered Monday August 10 2009, 1:09 am: That's not weird at all. I can listen to and at least tolerate most types of music. It's nice to be able to listen to all genres of music, because then you know there will always be a song you like for the mood you're in. =) [ SpecialxKxlove's advice column | Ask SpecialxKxlove A Question ]
Uniq_The_Geek answered Sunday August 9 2009, 12:55 pm: Hi :]
I don't think it's weird at all. Personally, I enjoy people who have a variety of tastes when it comes to music, people, etc. I tend to be like that as well. I listen different kinds of music and people might not like it but I do :D
LOL_x0x answered Sunday August 9 2009, 8:20 am: It's fine. I'm just like you.
One minute, I'm listening to Lil Wayne, then I switch the The White Stripes, and then I'll listen to Colbie Caillat or something. It's good to like a variety of music :)
Trauma answered Sunday August 9 2009, 6:04 am: I'm a total metal head most of the time, but I also have an extremely wide taste in music, including pop & some country. There's really nothing wrong with it in my opinion. Why should you have to stick to one music genre when you can enjoy them all? [ Trauma's advice column | Ask Trauma A Question ]
Matt answered Sunday August 9 2009, 5:50 am: You can listen to In Flames then move onto Taylor Swift?
That's bizarre. If I knew you in reality, I'd say your tastes are too broad to fully experience and grasp music.
That being said, yea death metal!
You should try of Gojira, Opeth, and Meshuggah if you haven't already.
EDIT:
Yea dude, you'd like the other two. Opeth is progressive death metal, which is what Gojira is. Meshuggah is technical death metal. Oh, you could also try the appropriately named Death, one of the first death metal bands. [ Matt's advice column | Ask Matt A Question ]
