babysitting job I'm thinking of making up some simple, to-the-point Babysitting fliers to put around in my neighbors mailboxes.
I have experience.. and I'm 19 years old, but here's one of the questions - do you think that's creepy if I do that? lol
I want them to be very simple, but at the same time give just enough information where they consider me... what exactly should I put?
Thanks

I think it's a fine idea. Another thing you can do is hang them up at places like grocery stores I know a lot of the grocery stores near my house have like, a bulletin board for the public where you can hang fliers advertising things such as babysitting services.
As far as what to put:
- Your age. Make sure they know you're not just some 13 year old whose young enough to still need a babysitter them self.
- Your experience. This way, parents will know that you can be trusted with their children.
- Your phone number, with "call with any questions or for more information" right next to it. This will make you seem approachable.
* Don't forget to put your name! So they know who to ask for when they call.
- Days and hours that you are available, so parents will know if your schedule can work with theirs.
Good luck!

I personally do not find it creepy, but some over-protective parents might. Usually parents do not just let anyone stay in their house alone with their children. That takes serious trust, so I am not sure how much response you would get. But it wouldn't hurt. Even if you only get a couple of responses, that is a very good thing. It's called networking. Ask the parents of a child you babysit to tell all of their friends about you. That way you will get more customers.
You already received advice on what to put on the flier, so some of this may be repetitive, but I figured I would add it anyway:
- Put the flier on colorful paper to get people's attention.
- You will want to put your name and telephone number. Those are the two most important pieces of information you will have. Also add something like, call to set up an interview. That way they can get to know you, and will be more likely to call. This will also make you sound more professional.
- You might also put your age and qualifications. If you have taken any parenting classes, or have previously babysat, you may put you are experienced.
If they do happen to call, set up an interview with them. Let them know your qualifications, and maybe suggest to them that you could come over free of charge while they are present to see how you are with children. That should make the parents more comfortable.
Good luck! ]
That sounds like a good idea and not creepy, although you may find that some parents are a little dubious about leaving their children with someone they've never met.
Just make a simple flyer including the following:
- Your name and age
- Your contact details
- When you are available
- Your rates
It might also be good to add that you live locally and that you are happy to meet with the parents for a chat to put their mind at rest or answer any questions. ]
