LOSE WEIGHT

Question Posted Thursday May 14 2009, 2:18 am

I just signed up for a gym membership and I am looking to get some type of bar that boosts energy (prior to working out) or something that helps burn fat or anything that you know from first hand, thanks

(also, where to get it)

The most effective style of eating is to eat a high number of small meals so you always provide your body with energy, but not too much at once. This also raises your metabolism. If you want to eat something before or after you exercise to help build muscle or supply nutrients, then you should probably consider how you eat regularly so you can eat it as the most effective time.

honestly, all the energy stuff is a hoax..no matter what you eat or drink, the energy that it gives you doesn't kick in until about 4 to 6 hours after you consume it. So you really should eat a few hours before working out...not a half hour. My reccomendation for some type of bar is anything that says BIG100. They are supplement bars, they're really heavy and take place of like a meal, and they taste awesome. They have flavors like chocolate chip cookie dough, and the best part is it tastes and feels like cookie dough...They're like 3 dollars a bor or there are drinks too, and like I said, there's really no such thing as an energy booster, unless its going like right into your bloodstream or something like that... Hope I helped
Oh, and you can buy them anywhere from like a superstore or a 7elleven, or the equivalent to 7elleven wherever you live.....

My personal trainer told me to do this, and it seems to be working pretty well.

Instead of eating a power bar before working out, have a piece of fruit right before. Make sure you've eaten proper meals before-hand as well, so that you don't end up dizzy. But fruit gives a great energy rush.

After your workout, your body is still burning calories like crazy! Have you ever noticed that about half an hour after your workout, you get really insatiably hungry? If you eat a protein bar in the half hour after working out, it will keep that from happening.

I get mine from Costco. They're called Myoplex, and they're lower calorie than most others. They're kind of like a chocolate Rice Krispie square.

Power Bar also makes some delicious ones (I think one is called Vanilla Toffee), but I find them to be really ridiculously expensive.
