I dont want to break up with my girlfriend, because I dont want to be known as the jerk by all of her friends. To prevent this, how do I get my girlfriend to break up with me?

if you have treated her with respect and you have not failed as a boyfriend youll never be a jerk...only in her mind which really isnt that bad if you are more concerned about hooking up with one of her friends then you need help. If you have lost interest in her your gona have to be honest the " its not you its me routine" is just that its a popular routine and shes heard it more than likely,,that will fire her up. so dont lie just be honest and tell her if you dont have does feelings anymore be honest but if you want to work things out with her tell her your lossing interest but that you really want to work things out and that your asking her for help. now if you just had sex with her then shame on you now you dont need help now your in trouble and you set yourself up for that so step up and be a man and tell her its over.. i mean if youve just been with her for sex then thats cold and you may as well finish your mission but if you havent then walk away and be honest you didnt take anything away from her except her time only. You will look like far more of a jerk if you start acting like one all of a sudden.
Be honest with her. Just tell her that you really like her, but that you're just not ready for the relationship. You do have age on your side.

- You stop answering her calls and texts, and avoid her at all costs.
- Breaking up with her in a public place.

There is no reason you have to be mean about it. Just tell her you think that you are to young to be in a serious relationship. Nothing against her at all, you just think it isn't working out.
Be nice. Stay friendly after (especially when her friends are around). If she chooses to be mean about it herself, then she will be the one who looks like the jerk. Not you.

Well if you actually care about her you should work on the "jerk" part her friends are saying. And if you make her break up with you then you really will me known as the "jerk". Just start doing cute sweet things to her around her friends, that is if you want to keep her around. Being with someone who takes in what there friends say is really hard, but its all part of being in a relationship. Sit her down, talk to her, if she points out what they think is the "jerk" part and she doesn't see it, then just work on that around her friends. But like i said, if you truly want to keep her around do that, if you don't want a relationship with her anymore, then break it off in a nice way.

If you keep doing things to get her to break up with you, chances are you'll still be known as the jerk by all of her friends, because they're her friends. They're going to be there for her when she's down, & they won't put the blame on her. Yeah, it might suck, but it's a girl thing, I guess. My friends are the same way. When you two break up, chances are they'll all be talking about how much of a jerk you are, regardless of how the relationship ended.
Just be straight forward with her. Tell her that you don't think your relationship is working out, & it might be best to break up. If her friends think you're a jerk, so what. Other people's opinions shouldn't be that important.
