i been on the pill for a couple months now.. i miss my pill on saturday its now sunday i took saturdays pill and sundays pill today (sunday) tomorrow im going to have sex (unprotected) what are the chances of me getting pregnant
KaylaHutchinson answered Monday February 2 2009, 5:07 pm: Missing the pill doesn't really matter, as long as you take it the next day.
Or if you have sex the day BEFORE you miss it, you may become pregnant.
But if you miss it, and THEN have sex, the chances will be the same.
Just try not to miss the next few days because I know people who have had unprotected sex and then missed the pill for 3 days and became pregnant so just be careful and try to remember to take it that day and the next few days after that.

If you miss a pill, take ONE the following day. Because you missed a pill, I suggest you wait at least one week before having unprotected sex to make sure your body has had time to secrete the proper amount of medication in the pill to protect you against pregnancy. What is waiting one week when you consider the alternative right? Make sure you don't miss anymore pills. Also, on the market, there is a pill called the day after pill. It's a pill you take the day after you had unprotected sex and think you might have become pregnant from the intercourse the night before. Ask any pharmacist about it. But you really should get better at remembering to take it- try setting a reminder on your cell phone, or taking it every day while doing something else (getting home from school, brushing your teeth before bed, etc).
If you ever miss more than one in a row, follow the directions that came with your birth control packet, and use a backup method for the rest of the month.

I'm confused. Why are you not taking your pill today?
You probably won't get pregnant, but it is not a good idea to keep playing around with your birth control. The more days you miss, the chances for pregnancy increase.
There are other options if you have a problem remembering.
