Question Posted Friday September 12 2008, 11:04 am

Hey. I'm in AP Bio and I have to write up an experiment on plants. I am not an expert on plants at all. Does anybody know of an expirement that I could start and finish within 2-4 weeks?

I once did a science fair experiment where I planted seeds in a cup of dirt and watered them with different substances. I think I used things like milk and lemon juice to water them with. It was actually kind of a cool experiment!

Actually I used to do this as a little kid. Buy some white flowers, put half in some regular water and half in some water that has some food coloring added. Observe for however long they live for, and maybe repeat again using different brand food colorings. Then discuss which one lived longer and why, things like that.

1. Put one plant in sunlight and one in a cupboard. Observe.

2. Why they need water (check this out: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location))

3. Plants need music? [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
I'm liking the sound of this one!

You could do some gardening with flowers or something. You can watch them grow, maybe water one and not the other so you can compare and contrast. Or even observe someone else garden of vegetables, determine why some are smaller than others. Or even grab a variety of different types, observe, and determine their differences or alikes.
