a#1 it doesnt hurt when they put the needle through, but it does burn a bit, i think, for a hour or so afterwards, but advil will help with that, which i DIDNT take...
a#2 no, it shouldnt get caught in your clothes, but make sure when getting your hair cut or you even brush your hair to watch out for it, because when i got my hair cut, the lady ripped mine out before it was fully healed.
a#3 itll take about 2 months to fully heal, just to be safe, but mine was fine after 6 weeks.
and, not to scare you, but when i got it done, and some of my friends agreed with this, your cartelage may make a pop noise, but dont even worry!
and make sure you get it from the front to back, and NOT have the back on the side of your ear. it looks bad, and it may hurt if they get the edge of your cartelage. you can just ask them to make wure they do that, thats what i did. the only problem with it is that it sometimes gets sore when you sleep on it, but youll get used to it. No, it doesn't really get caught in stuff, but whenyou first get it you DO have to watch when you tuck your hair behind your ears, because your peircing will be tender, but after three months it's fully healed, and you can change it. 1. Focus on your breathing. If you breathe in as you get pierced, it's not half as bad! It doesn't hurt that much, just feels like a quick pinch. Then it will throb (no pain) for a while after.
2 Depends what you're pierced with. Just be wary when you pull things over your head and when you sleep. If you catch it, it'll hurt a little bit but it'll soon go off.
lacexface answered Tuesday July 28 2009, 12:53 pm: 1. I got mine done a long time ago, and it was painless. My friend recently got hers done and said it definitely hurt more than an earlobe piercing. After the needles put through isn't as bad, but it will be red. It's not true that it would hurt less with a needle at a parlor, it'll pinch regardless but it's only for a second. At a parlor it's about 40$-60$ to get it done, at Claire's it's about 18$-20$.
2. It doesn't usually get caught in your hair, just try to wear your hair up for the first week and you should be fine, and make sure to clean it as they instruct.
3. It takes about 8 weeks - 3 months to fully heal, don't try changing your earring until after they instruct you to.
sweeethoney answered Tuesday July 28 2009, 11:32 am: it all depends how your body handles piercins.
1. i personally didnt think it hurt that bad. its like pinchin your cartilage really hard for just a second. and yes, it can easily hurt afterwards.
2. mine never gets caught in clothin or hair now, just because ive had it for 2 years and im used to it now. just be careful when you put a shirt on or take it off, and brushin your hair.
3. wait about 6-7 weeks to change it, dependin how red and painful it is. try to keep it away from harm, like catchin it on a hair brush, touchin it, and sleepin on it. keep it clean ! wash it once or twice a day. if you get a hoop, touch the part away from your ear and just move it up and down so the skin doesnt grow around it. if you get a stud, twist it with the earrin back. and no, it doesnt take a year. but it can get infected easily so be careful okay ?
jm93 answered Tuesday July 28 2009, 11:15 am: For some it does hurt..it depends on your pain tolerance. Mine didn't hurt that much. But, keep in mind, the needle is a lot more safer than the gun. I don't recommend this piercing because it's the piercing that gets infected easily..but if you take care of it properly and go to a very good piercing place..I'm sure you'll be okay :). Just like any other piercing, it's going to be sore afterwards..make sure you use aftercare on your piercing daily. No one has ever complained of it getting caught in their hair or clothes. Unless your putting your clothes or hair on that piercing..nothing should happen. With my piercings however, I sometimes tend to get clothes stuck on it..it doesn't hurt though so don't worry. It doesn't neccesarily take a full year to heal..piercings take a few months to heal enough so that the hole wont close when you take the piercing out. I had my nose pierced last year (also done with a needle) and I was able to start changing nose rings in a matter of 3 months. But it does take a year to have the hole be perminent (if that's what you want). They'll tell you any info you want to know wherever you get it done. Just be careful and choose the right place!
coconutcatastrophe answered Tuesday July 28 2009, 11:11 am: 1. it hurts more if they do it with a gun, so get it done with a needle (you probably would have to go to a tattoo shop)..it hurts a little more than an earlobe piercing because its cartlidge but its not too bad. it doesn't really hurt afterwards but if you sleep on it, it will hurt in the morning. so try not to sleep on it.
2. just like any other piercing it could get caught on your hair of clothes but it hasn't really been a problem for me, just be careful.
3. i changed it after 3 months and it was fine. but yeah it probably takes 6 mos-yr to be fully healed so you can change it before then but make sure you leave something in because it will close easily. [ coconutcatastrophe's advice column | Ask coconutcatastrophe A Question ]
