Like everyone knew they would get married. We all knew she could get pregnant [because having sex always leaves that possibility open when you're human]. We all knew she would become a vampire. And we all knew the Volturi would come back and try to be all cool, but then we knew there wasn't actually going to be a fight, but we knew if there was, Bella/Edward's side would win, and no one on their side would die.
Personally, the only thing that really surprised me a bit was that she finally could let Edward read her mind, but personally, now that I've thought about that, that was also predictable.
I hated Book Two. Jacob is a stupid character and the whole "werewolves" thing just ruined the series. I liked Twilight because Jacob wasn't really a character and it was just about vampires. Jacob was unnecessary drama.
MelLeDisko answered Saturday August 9 2008, 5:27 am: Actually, I was a little disappointed. I mean, not that it wasn't great, because the whole twilight series is wonderful. But the third book is probably my favorite, by far.
I adored reading about the wedding and everything, but I don't know... it just seemed a little cliche` of an ending. She definetely had twists to it to make it interesting, but I don't know.. I think I was bothered by their having a baby. I'm not a sap of the whole "happy family ever after" thing usually. The ending of the final Harry Potter series did that two where like, everyone was married and seeing their kids of to Hogwarts. I was just like "How touching, I predicited this?"
I would've prefered if Bella and Edward just were by themselves at least for awhile. ;] But it did make me cry, at one point, haha. And even though I am heavily Pro-Edward <3, it kinda made my heart sad a little that Jacob no longer loved her like that. I thought in the previous books whenever they argued over her, especially in the tent whenever Jacob had to keep her warm, was hilarious. Yeah, the imprinting on Bella's daughter was kind of obvious as well.
But I'm SOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSO happy she changed! I'd been wanting her to turn FOREVER. But not in the way she did, I wanted it to be all romantical and such, not her lying on her deathbed being injected with needles and bleeding.
So yeah, all in all, it was okay. I liked reading it, just most of the book didn't really turn out the way I wanted it. I wanted it all romantic and everything. [ MelLeDisko's advice column | Ask MelLeDisko A Question ]
I liked it. I found that throughout the series, the major plot points (ie; Jacob is a werewolf, Renesmee would be confused with the immortal children) were somewhat predictable, but Breaking Dawn also threw in some plot twists I hadn't expected. I found it weird though, that Stephenie ended it the way she did: the ending wasn't absolute, she brought up lots of questions.. she could easily write a 5th book. She'd planned all along to write a four-book series, why end with a slight cliff hanger?
On another note: I was definitely a fan of the section from Jacob's point of view. When I first realized she was switching narrators, I got annoyed, but when it switched back I figured out that I liked Jacob's point of view better than Bella's. I think putting in the perspective of Jacob really made the book different from others. [ cherry777's advice column | Ask cherry777 A Question ]

((*SPOILER WARNING* in case anybody reading this hasn't read/finished Breaking Dawn))
I thought Breaking Dawn was okay. Not great, not horrible, just okay. I think that's because from Bella's point of view, her way of thinking has changed due to the baby and her transformation. It just seemed too different since she now has another person to love possibly more than Edward, you know? And Edward no longer needs to protect her now that she's, well you know. ;]
I loved though that part of the book was told from Jacob's perspective. That was a nice change and I think Stephenie Meyer did a fantastic job stepping into another character's shoes. It really sounded like Jacob talking, not Bella. =]
