my room.

Question Posted Monday July 14 2008, 12:14 pm

ok, well I just moved the furniture around in my room today.
I hate the color of my walls and I want to paint.
The thing is I want to do something crazy, but I have no idea what colors, and if I had colors I dont know what to do with them.
I dont know if I want some sort of design or what, I'm kind of stumped.
If anyone has any suggestions that would be lovely (:
the only thing i know is that I dont want pink or red.

Ok, I am sooooo into interior design. Its my passion. YOu sound like you style is modern, youthful, and crAzy! You like bright colors. Here is my first word of advice.
DONT BE AFRAID TO MIX N MATCH COLORS AND PATTERNS
My room is aquamarine blue (on one wall) the other walls have purple, lime green and blue splattered on them. I have different textures and patterns all throughout. It is very young, hip and retro.
Since you like colors, I would sugguest maybe stripes down your walls. Or even painting one wall like a purple and the other wall like an orange. DIspite how it sounds, they do go together. BUt when you are choosing colors, make usre you dont choose like a soft purple and a neon orange. If you are going to use different colors, make sure they are of the same brightness (if that makes sence?) Also, come up with a theme. DO NOT have an elegant bed with crAzy color walls and shag carpet. That is too over the top. Keep it fun.
I hope my advice helps.

This is kind of an odd question to ask, really. You're asking other people to tell you how you should express who you are. WHat's your favorite color? Your favorite thing to do? Your favorite pattern? Pick something that describes who you are and that you would lvoe to look at every day-maybe have someone (or you yourself) just go crazy on your walls so that you always see something new in it. No matter what, make sure that it's what you want before you break out the brushes.

The thing is you don't want pink or red so the trick is use pink or red. Do something funky and fresh.

awh. Pinks the best color.
Well, my best friend just painted her room black and white. She had black as the base color and she used a sponge to sponge white paint on her wall. I dun know what its called, I guess its called sponge painting. But she used the sponge to put little circles on her wall, it's really cool.

it looks like that, but with black and white.

I painted my room teal, and I have a black and white theme. I have black and white pictures and a zebra bedspread. I love it ;]

The other idea I was debating was painting it yellow and having a tropical theme.

try doing a mixture of green and yellow, or green and blue, those colors would brighten up your room.

try painting one wall green, next wall the other color. you know? it would be pretty. :]
