Try a tunic dress with skinny jeans or leggings under neath with flats. It's cute, fancy but not "over the top"

Here's some links..

Check out Urbanoutfitters.com they have some really cool alternative dresses. Whats your price range? You can buy something that you can wear over and over again. They also have some really fun shoes.

When going to a wedding look for something that will make you feel comfortable and feel great. Check out the website.

you sound exactly like me.
anything that isnt an oversized warpedtour hoodie or something of the sort is unnatural.

weddings are usually formal-ish, but check the card to make sure.
you should try getting a dress, just to show respect
look at the hot topic website and you might find a decent, not too over the top dress. either that or forever 21 for something simple.

You'll want to look nice, because you'll most likely be in LOTS of pictures. Check the invitation for things like "black-tie", otherwise you're on your own here. My suggestion would be either a nice sundress [which might be too girly-feeling for you, but if it's an outdoor wedding you might end up liking it]. Plus, you could wear a cropped jacket or sweater over it, which would make it feel more casual for you.

DO NOT WEAR WHITE!!! Black isn't as bad, but you might feel blah and boring. Unless it's black-tie, then it's fine.

Otherwise, what about a nice pair of pants and a top? You'd LOOK dressed up, but still feel comfortable.
pants like this [NO jeans!!!]

Shirts, might be harder. If oyu have to go shopping, take a mom/aunt/older sister/ you get the idea.
Maybe something like this? I don't know your style exactly.
