k so i want to dye my tips of my hair or underneath my hair purple (semi-permanent, only for the summer). my mom offered to do it with those at-home applyers. but is it better to get it professionally done in the salon?

if you are doing just the tips your mom can do it if you were to get highlights then you should go to a salon.
You will need to bleach your hair in order to have the color. The tips have to turn very blonde before you have the purple show. The more blonde the hair the lighter the color.
And do not wash your hair with warm water once you color it. It will completely wash it out. Good luck. :)

Some really good schools are Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, FIDM in Cali, and Art institute which has fashion merchandising in specific locations. It depends on where you live but it depends on what you do exactly in merchandising. Being a buyer or visual merchandising or working wholesale. It depends on what career move you make. The amount you make is based on how long you have been in the industry. The more experience you have the more money you will make. Its a very difficult cut throat industry. Math is important but not a huge factor the basics what you really need.
One word of advice is its not all glamorous nor easy but if you have a love for it you will succeed. I have gone to FIT let me know if you have any other questions I will be happy to help you out.

If I cut back on all junk foods, with exception to carbs which are needed as well as lean protein, substitute water for soft drinks.
And exercise 30 minutes (cardio) and doing various toning exercises, 5 days a week, will I be able to lose 10-15 lbs by the end of summer?
Also, does mindset play a big role in weight loss? Because I tried to lose weight last summer, ate properly and stuff but I never lost anything.
Well keep in mind that your body gets used to what your doing. The food you eat the main thing you have work on and when you work out switch it up and the more you work out add more time. Its very hard to lose weight I have been trying for a while now and Im beginning to lose it now. Be patient because it wont happen over night. Eat right and exercise regularly.

right now my computer is broken. and i can only use my mom's blackberry to check my email until we get it fixed. well now the blackberry is having problems. like, when i try to surf the web, a box comes up that says, "a problem occured while trying to render the page." and then the site doesnt work. it's really starting to piss me off because now hardly any websites are working. we should be getting our computer fixed soon but, in the meantime, what do i do to fix the blackberry?! please help!!

Your blackberry is not letting you go on the site because its not able to open them. They're are only a few sites that are smart phone friendly. Its not going to let you on all the sites. Or you might have to see if you have the latest version. If not you will have to update it. But otherwise keep in mind that a blackberry isnt a computer so your limited to the site you can go on or get in.

im trying to make friends this year but it's so hard! i dont have a "best friend", a person who i think is the coolest person to hang out with ever and who thinks the same about me, like other girls & guys with my grade. thats bc i used to be really shy but now im pretty much over shyness and i want to be social.
i know i should be nice & talkative but i feel like its HARD because i dont want to become one of those people who are so OBVIOUSLY trying to be friends with someone else and spend all their time talking to them when that person doesnt like them. also it seems like veryone already has their own best friends, a crew that they can hang out with at ANYTIME. while i have friends in 5 groups and out of 10 years only 5 of my friends have come over to my house, and i can count the number of times they have come over on my hands. and i never get invited ANYWHERE..to the beach...to parties (maybe once every 6 months)..just to HANG OUT..im always at home on saturdays and im too embarassed to admit it to anyone. =[
keep in mind my family is kind of hard up right now money-wise so i cant just throw parties.

I know what its like. I had the same thing happen to me when I moved. I went into a new high school, everyone had there best friends and I had friends in other cliques. I sat alone with a few other people. But I know how difficult it can be. I started making friends in my classes. I would start making conversations with some new people. Talk about TV shows, what's going on in class, things that happen in school (gossip), or homework. Keep trying because sometimes you will become friends with someone you never expected. Keep trying it doesn't hurt to talk to someone or go a little out of your way to make a new friend.

Well it depends on what state you live in. You can work at the kid store at 17. The adult store at 18. Look at your state working laws. But it does pay minimum wage. You can work whenever you are able to, it was one of my jobs that was extremely flexible.

well I think you like him and are pushing what you feel away. I know what you mean. I have this happen to me on a regular basis. I always like guys that my friends don't like or family never approve of. The truth is we will always be attracted to certain guys. But we will one day find someone better.
And the fact that he has a girlfriend is a red flag. Major red flag only because you might become more attached once you realize your feelings. The truth is guys who have girlfriends are the worst to find. I think you should let him be your brothers friend. He might interest you but don't cross that line once you do you will mostly get hurt.
Well I let you know that I just cut the ties to a guy I dated for a while. He led me on like he was single and just wanting to be good friend. After a while he told me he was beginning to have feelings for me. I knew he wasn't right for me, I remembered what he was like in high school and wasn't too sure. So I continued to see him. Then one day I looked at his facebook and it said he a girlfriend. Once I approached him about it he told me the truth and was it wasn't going the way he planned. He wanted to hang out with me as friend with feeling but wait until he dumped his current girlfriend. I decided to cut the cord. Its tough once you have started to establish feelings. And he still tries to contact me but the problem is I should have never let it go this far. Its better because if you just avoid it completely. You wont get hurt, neither will his girlfriend (which trust me will once you opened that door and allow him in) or him.
I was once told let the guys break other girls hearts, let them find themselves, let them figure out what they want and let them get hurt before he reaches you. Do the same with this guy. Let him mature and keep him at arms length never too close. He will one day become move available and you can be more interested in you.

So I got a job at a local fast food restaurant. I've been working there for a month now. I just got my fourth paycheck today, and I brought it home and instead of giving it to my parents to put in my bank account like I usually do, I kept it and told them that i wanted to spend part of it on some new clothes and things. I'm 17 years old this Saturday and they told me that I couldn't spend any of my money. it really made me mad and I walked off and now they're mad at me. I haven't gone shopping in nearly four months, and even when I do I don't spend a lot. I don't understand why they won't let me use any of the money that I earned. I'm so sick of hearing them tell me to save for the future and college and crap like that. I'm seventeen years old and I want a little freedom to spend a part of my paycheck the way I please. what should I do?
I know how you feel but the truth is right now you don't see the positive about saving money. You want to be able to spend some of it. Well ask your parents if you can put $20 aside from every paycheck and this can be for your shopping. And they can totally understand because its not your whole paycheck. Showing them you can save will make them feel secure to let you spend your money. And once you get to college you wont regret saving all that money.

Dont use anything with alcohol base it will eat away the surface. Go to the website they have a cleaner that cleans the screen and keys. or go to your local mac store and ask them what you can use. First off pre-cum can get you pregnant. So please use protection. And take a second test. I tell everyone to take a second test. Your hormones are trying to balance themselves out for either your period or a baby. Be patient the test wont tell you right away. And they moving around in your stomach that is either your nerves getting the best of you or your body making room for a baby. It sounds scary but your body is making room for the womb. I need to make money to pay my loan... i'm a full time student. i volunteer, and i have to take care of my parents since they depend so much on me to take care of them ( i am the youngest and they're old...) I can't find a decent job... more specifically no one will hire me.... most of my job experience is from volunteer work (just because i got most of these opportunities through my college career center and because these big companies were to cheap to pay the "small people") anyway... i work harder than anyone i know... and i really need to make money to pay my last year of college... how can i make money but still be able to maintain decent steady (i am not saying stress free or relaxed!) time flow! my main priority is my parents' health because both have critical conditions... in the same time i really need to fix my credit score and pay my debts! please help i don't know what to do!!
Well start looking for jobs in the newspaper, criagslist and look into temp agencies. I was in the same position as you last year. I graduated and had more debt then people my age should have. College loans have ways of helping you too. I recently got laid off and paying my loans became hard because i'm not receive severance checks. So I called them up and I just had to fill out an unemployement form. So my payments are held for 6 month.
Also take a day to work on your resume. Volunteering is amazing in any resume for the simple fact that your working hard for nothing. So work on your resume and start making accounts on monster and career builder and college recruiter. Start applying now before there is a rush of new college students looking for jobs.
And fixing your credit score will only come with you paying on time and sometimes more then they need from you. If your bill is $100 a month pay $200 every time you get paid or every month. That will qualify you for a lower interest rate and you will pay it off faster as well as fix your credit.

Alright prom is my specialty!! I just helped out my cousins girlfriend who by the way is a total tom boy. I have helped her out in a matter of day. First things first he is wearing a white suit which think of it as a blank canvas.
You are looking to wow people so go for a fun bright color. Something sexy but not over the top. Try to avoid poofy dresses they are extremely uncomfortable, you wont be able to dance or sit in it. Go with something that will fit your body type and skin tone.
Next color your hair. Buy it over the counter the darkest brown you can find. Color it and 2 days prior to prom color it again so that the pieces you missed or didn't take the color takes on your second try. I would suggest to go for a sleek, classy and sexy hair do. Try a sexy bun or even something a little funky.
Make up is the fun part after you choose your dress. Go to your local department store like macy's dillards, saks or what have it and ask them what would look great with the dress you choose and they will do your make up if you buy the product. I bought a lip gloss and eyeliner which you can use after prom is over.
If you go into prom totally polished and done up you will wow everyone. And since you said you where clumsy dont wear white!!! A girl at my table had a beautiful white dress and dropped french dressing all over it.

i have the motorola razr (red) from sprint and have had TONS of problems with it. recently it will tell me i get a text over 2 hours after it was sent. this is completely inconvenient especially in case of emergency. is it my phone or the service that is the problem? what are good RELIABLE phones for sprint?!
Everyone I know that has had a razr has had really bad issues with it. The new razr is suppose to better. Avoid the older version of the phone.

yeah I rarely go to the bathroom and I was going constantly. I did have the white bodily fluid. Have you taken a pregnancy test? I had a lot of complications so please see a doctor. And the cramping is your body making room for the embryo. So it will feel like you are going to get your period but its you body giving you another hint. When was the last time you got your period?
