I started babysitting my cousins when I was about 11, but they were older, like second grade at the youngest. It depends on the age of the kids you're watching, but I think 13 is a perfect age. There are probably cases where you could be younger but if you were babysitting for people you didn't know very well thats probably the age they would want minimum.
