about

I'm burningXstar (feel free to shorten that to any name you like!) i'm a student living in the UK, and as well as having a very mixed up life, I do enjoy trying to help others with their problems and woes in return for everyone elses much appreciated advice =)

I try to help people as best as I can, most of my advice is through personal experience, and experiences I have learnt through people around me. I consider myself to be a good listener, and tend to pick up on lots of little details, so hopefully this will also help me to answer any questions! I also study biology so if relevant I will use scientific data to back up any questions. However there are always going to be some things I honestly know nothing about! I will not give half hearted answers to these questions! Therefore I will only answer questions I can put all my knowledge and effort into.

My realm of topics still varies, hence why I haven't listed any "main catagories". But if you have any questions feel free to ask me for any advice and I promise I will reply! =)

well i wanna babysite kids cause i like doing that so what age do you think i can babysite at?i already have experience with my neice and nephew

Depends on the babysitting job but generally I would say 16 as you need to be responsible enough to take care of emergency situations and take charge of the children you're looking after. There are probably cases where you could be younger but if you were babysitting for people you didn't know very well thats probably the age they would want minimum.

I am always tired. I mean, ALWAYS. I can sleep for 9 hours and wake up tired, but I can also sleep for up to 12 hours and still be tired. No matter how long I sleep I'm always exhausted. It's really causing problems because I can't concentrate. This has been going on for a few months now. I thought I was just tired, but it hasn't gone away. I was just wondering if anyone knew any reasons why this might be. Any possible explinations would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I would go see a doctor, there can be many medical reasons for this such as anaemia. Just to do be sure this isn't the cause I would have a check up! Sometimes "oversleeping" can make you feel worse off than "undersleeping" - for example if about 8 hours is right for you - sleeping for 9 hours may make you feel worse when you wake up than sleeping 7 hours for example, I'm not really sure why this is but works for quite a few people I know, maybe you could try sleeping for 8 hours or slightly less (set an alarm) and see if this helps make you feel any better!
Good luck!

so yesterday me and my boyfriend had sex for the first time, and i know im probably being really paranoid, but we did use a condom and it didnt break. he didnt come but im pretty sure he like precummed or whatever. is there ANY way that i could be pregnant?

It's normal to feel this way but if you used the condom correctly there is a very slim chance of you being pregnant. Wait and see if your next period is on time - or if you are very worried to put your mind at ease you can buy a pregnancy test to check after a few days.
Now you have become sexually active though I would advise thinking about going on the contreceptive pill - in adition to condoms these make the changes of you getting pregnant very very slim indeed and are a good "safety net" if the condom in future ever accidently did break, or if you feel worried afterwards!
Hope this helps!

does anyone know a web site where they sell a lot of adidas shoes? i found this really cute pair on zappos, but they only have womens size 6 and 11 and 1/2. they are basketball shoes, and i really want them. theyre called top ten lo oddity. pleaseee help i want them really soon.

Try ebay :)

Okay sorry Ebay didn't work out for you, its normally a good place to look, emailing the ebay shops that sell them to see if they have other sizes in stock or that they can order in is normally worth a try too. But if that's no good then try:

How long does it take a laxative to work? o.O

Depends on the strength of the laxative and the person taking the laxative! If you buy an over the counter laxative it won't be as effective as a prescribed one, whereas if a person takes alot of laxatives anyway it won't be as effective as someone who never takes them. It's never normally instantaneous - in general takes a good few hours, and the degree to which it works as well varies so it is hard to say exactly...

can you take back pants to the store if you wash them once? (abercrombie&fitch)

I don't think so - normally you have to have the tickets/tags still on the clothing and typically unworn with reciept before the last return date.
You can probably sell them on ebay though :)

HI everyone.
So I'm that girl that always likes to have something different on... for the last 2 years I was into peace signs and hippie-ish things but now every single store has that! Girls that get into fights everyday wear peace signs! Now I want to find something different/unique that not many other people will be wearing. any ideas?
17/Female.

Runes are quite unique, each symbol has a different meaning, I used to wear an Algiz I think it was called which meant protection I think - but there are others like the ankh which is very popular meaning eternal life... EBay is quite good for unique ideas!
Hope this helps :)

for some backround info, i havent had my period since jan. 17. ii am sexually active with my bf of two years. i went to planned parenthood last week. and they told me im not pregnant

heres the problem. about two weeks ago there was some blood when i would go to the bathroom. very slight amount.
just these past few days, my vagina has been very irritated, itchy, and today it was bleeding a little when i went to the bathroom. i took a mirror and looked down there, it seems there was maybe a cut or the source of blood was near the vaginal opening or near where the cherry would be popped?

i lost my virginity two yrs ago so i really dont think its just from sex.

anyone have any ideas what could be going on?

im thinking about scheduling a gyno appointment..but my health insurance runs out the end of the month. if i go, would it be anonymous or would my parents find out i went if i use my insurance before it runs out.

Deffinately book the appointment - sounds like you may have an infection which you may need to get some medication for to clear up - appointments of that nature are normally anoynmous altho I'm not 100% sure how it works in America - but infections are not always related to sex such as thrush and cystitis so its not necessarily linked to sex. But I would also reccoment going to a sexual health clinic if you have any of those? As could be a chance you have a STI if you are sexually active.
As for your period - depending on your age it is normal for them to fluctuate, if you have an infection this may also be affecting it so I would mention it at your appointment - if you are on birth control this may also affect your periods.
Bottom line tho - if you are having itchy/irration down there get it checked out and don't be embarassed - its normal and unfortunately probably wont go away unless you do!
Good luck!

I really really really really REALLY want to dye my hair. right now its a blonde/brown and I want it to be a medium brown. but my mom does not approve of this. I dyed my hair before but it was a semi permanent and my mom still was freaking out. (she says if i keep dying my hair it will all fall out and you have to keep redying it because of the roots) I don't care because thats how much i hate my hair color. My friend and i are planning on going to the salon on wednesday and my mom doesn't know about this.

I need advice on if this is a good idea or not. should i dye my hair behind my moms back? its not even a big dramatic change. its just like 2 shades different. If i do dye my hair, i am going to get it permanent. good idea or bad idea? thanks!

I would dye it in the shade you want it done permenantly in semi-perm first because if you decide in the end you don't like it - it will be much more difficult to get your original hair colour back.
Also I think its not a good idea to get it done behind your mum's back as she may feel as though you are betraying her trust - and she will obviously find out so its better for her to agree to it first - maybe have a chat with a good hairdresser about the hair damage and root problems - in the end if you have to keep having your roots redone this can be very expensive which is another factor to consider!
Hope this helps and good luck!

okay im doing a powerpoint and i need to print it out but i dont know how to make it so that all the slides get printed on one page, some one help pleasseee !!!

If you have less than 9 slides you can print them all on the same page. You go to File --> Print Preview --> then in the top corner on the drop down box which says "Print What" you can select how many slides you want on each page. (This is how it works on Powerpoint XP - if you have another version it might be slightly different)
Hope this helps!

hi, i'm the one that asked a question you answered about the raincoats, haha. i saw you're living in the UK, so i just thought i'd ask a few other questions if you don't mind.

is it really as rainy there as people say? my mom went when she graduated college (but that was in like, 85 or so, haha) and she said it rained everyday she was there. how is the weather in mid-april? and what temperatures should i/our group expect?

and what are some attractions that we should definitely see? we're going to all the big places, but are there any other cool places that aren't as popular that you'd recommend, or anything special we should do? and i'm a really picky eater... is the food there like the US at all?

any tips or anything like that would be great. i've tried to do some research, but it's all from a trvel agent's standpoint and i don't really want that. i want to find some answers with people with some experience of being there (: thanks in advance!

Heya :)

It does tend to rain quite abit but I wouldn't say it rains every day, and the rain we have doesn't tend to last for very long either, normally very short burst of rain - I live near the central part of England and we had a lovely sunny day today! We are well known for having crazy unstable weather especially around this time going into spring - so I would be prepared for everything lol. Temperature depends on the weather but in general its cold/mild, very much jeans and jumper/jacket weather. If you want a good indicator have a look at BBC weather reports on the internet a week or so before you go as they tend to be very useful!

As for attractions, London is a very touristy place - you are bound to find lots of things to do! I would reccomend going to see a show at one of the theatres - this is what I did when I went to London and had a really good time - The Lion King is very good! But there are always lots on and many ticket booths around the city sell them. There are many markets and attractions like the London dungeons and wax works, there are a few theme parks too (but the ones in the USA are much better lol!) There are also some famous shops like Hamleys (toy shop) and Oxford street (but can be quite expensive). As for food - I'm a very fussy eater aswell but generally can always find something to eat on a menu in a restaurant/cafe - we have lots of foriegn cuisine places that do chinese/indian/thai/italian/french/spanish and many fast food places - I'm sure you will be fine with food! :)

If you have anymore questions feel free to message me! :)

I'm going to England and Ireland for Spring Break in two weeks from today. I know it's always pretty rainy there, so I want to get a raincoat. But I can't seem to find any cute ones. And I don't want to spend over $40-50 because I won't use it that much. Target has black and brown, but I'd really like a different colored one, maybe green or navy or something to match rainboots on their site. So does anyone know where I can get one? It doesn't exactly have to be a raincoat, but any cutecoat that will protect me from rain will do (:

Also, if anyone has any international/England/Ireland travel tips they'd like to share, I'd appreciate that too!

Buy one when you get over here! We have loads lol :) And most are pretty cheap on high street shops. Try H&M and Primark they are very cheap and have many cute styles. Also you can find those shops pretty much everywhere but check out store locators online to find out exactly where.
Hope you have a nice holiday, personally I can't wait to get away from here - the weather is really depressing at the moment! =[

Ok, you know if you have MSN Live Messenger or whatever, it creates a folder called ''My sharing folders''
Right, I accidentally saved some stuff in there, and now I don't know how to delete it form there.
I tried to select them, press delete, doesn't work.
You can't copy or paste them either.
Any help on how to clear this folder?

THANK YOU!!

Download the newest version of live messanger, you can delete them on that, right click and delete.

*** Try deleting them after the individual who you are sharing the folder with has gone offline, or go offline yourself and try to delete them?

i pull out my eyebrows, and eyelashes, but right now it's msotly my eyebrows. its supposedly a disease linked to OCD, but my mom claims i dont have it. ive been battling this for 5 years, it lowers my self esteem, and i'm pretty positive i have it. my eyebrows, they have like patches without hair, so i like color them in i guess with thick eyeliner pencil, so it doesn't look ridiculously fake, but still it's weird. please don't judge me for this, its something i REALLY want to overcome, but how? i want to gain confidence and live my life *with* eyelashes and eyebrows, and not having to worry.

I understand your problem, I always find myself unconsciously tugging out my eyebrows for no apparent reason - if it is seriously worrying you and becoming an everyday problem you can't ignore you may be best in seeking a doctors advise. Is there any trigger that sets off the hair pulling? Children normally pull at their hair when they find they are stressed, I find my hands always need to be doing something and its become an unconsious reaction... if you perservere hard enough and concentrate on what you want to acheive - confidence and the power to say no to your hands moving near your hair! If you really believe you need some expert help see your doctor, but ultimately you need to think about the reasons and situations in which you induldge in this behaviour and how you can help yourself to stop it.
Good luck!

okay.
now..
Does everyone moan when they have sex? i don't really get it. What if i don't automatically moan, should i fake it? how load.
idk
someone please help.

I wouldn't worry about it... just do what comes naturally, not everyone moans. Moaning can turn guys on as its a sign of you being pleasured but at the same time, if you moan like girls in the porn industry... might actually be a turn off as comes across as though you are faking it.

ohk so i was just wondering if people could tell me some things to expect or to not expect the first time you have sex, personal stories would be helpful but i would really just like to know generally is normal and what isn't normal to happen the first time, thanks in advance, i'll rate : )

It's normal for the first time to be extremely awkward, painful, disappointing, scary, embarassing, and confusing... For females it can be very emotional, sometimes painful for males it can be nerve racking and often if its their first time they can experience loss of erection or ejaculate far too soon, or not at all! Its rare to have a "good" first time, just like riding a bicycle, weird analogy but seriously you need practise to get the hang of it, and dispel the fears of falling off so to speak (embarasment, pain, awkwardness) my advise would be don't have high expectations for your first time, make sure you are ready and are prepared to work at something which can be special with someone special :)

moshing??

People all jumping up and down to rock/metal music, typically at concerts, normally forming a circular mass of people, very sweaty and cramped. But basically a type of dancing, altho it looks more like a ritual of some sort lol. If you want a visual idea type "moshing" into youtube!
