i want to dye my hair

Question Posted Sunday March 30 2008, 4:51 pm

I really really really really REALLY want to dye my hair. right now its a blonde/brown and I want it to be a medium brown. but my mom does not approve of this. I dyed my hair before but it was a semi permanent and my mom still was freaking out. (she says if i keep dying my hair it will all fall out and you have to keep redying it because of the roots) I don't care because thats how much i hate my hair color. My friend and i are planning on going to the salon on wednesday and my mom doesn't know about this.

I need advice on if this is a good idea or not. should i dye my hair behind my moms back? its not even a big dramatic change. its just like 2 shades different. If i do dye my hair, i am going to get it permanent. good idea or bad idea? thanks!

Hey,my name is Faith42 and I think I can help you
I think it is ok for you to dye your hair but you
should realy get the permission from your mother
first. You should find a picture of a person that
has the color you want then that shows her how it
looks. Maybe you can make a deal with your mom about
something.Like for an a sample you will clean your
room for a week, clean the dishes for a week , do
your homework early ect. Thats what I think you
should do or maybe ask your father he might say
yes and he can convice your mom to say yes!
I hope I helped,
Faith42:)

It's not the best idea to dye your hair behind your mom's back.
But if you honestly REALLY want to, the most you'll get is just a punishment, probably.
But sure, you will have to keep dying you hair.
But I know people that have been dying and bleaching their hair for 10 years and up and they STILL have a full head of hair.
Just deep condition it.
And you won't have to bleach out your hair for the color you want, so you won't damage it too much.
But deep conditioning it works wonders and only touch it up when you need to.

I would dye it in the shade you want it done permenantly in semi-perm first because if you decide in the end you don't like it - it will be much more difficult to get your original hair colour back.
Also I think its not a good idea to get it done behind your mum's back as she may feel as though you are betraying her trust - and she will obviously find out so its better for her to agree to it first - maybe have a chat with a good hairdresser about the hair damage and root problems - in the end if you have to keep having your roots redone this can be very expensive which is another factor to consider!
Hope this helps and good luck!
