my ex is trying too hard

Question Posted Sunday February 24 2008, 10:56 pm

16/f..i broke up with my boyfriend a week ago..and i got over him, he's a jerk and all he wanted was sex..
now he's trying to make me jealous by listing all the possible girls and "omg so many girls asked me out/hooked up with me" <-- that's all he ever talks about. i'm not an ounce jealous..cause he's an idiot. but i just don't know how to react without giving off bad vibes (jealous ones)...should I pretend to be happy for him or ignore him or..? he's 16 by the wayy..and freshmen are asking him out :) (he's desperate)

Yeah, If he is annoying. Drop him. You sound like you don't have any emotional attachment to him, so don't talk to him, or if you don't want to lose him as a friend, tell him that you want to be friends, just that you don't want to know any of his "hook up" details.

I'd drop him.
Ask him if he still would like to be friends. If he says yes then tell him to knock it off.
He is way to immature for you and you don't want a person like that around.

Yes acting like you happy that he is hooking up with all these girls will drive him crazy. beign happy makes you give out the vibe you are friends who want to help and support each other. He won't be expecting that reaction and thats what it will drive him crazy. Or even find someone else for yourself. Scope the school and see if you have any prospects, if so, then you go for that person and that will give him the vibe it is finally over. If you have someone to brag about then he will stop bragging about his people.

If he just wanted you for sex, broke up with you and then begins to list all the girls asking him out just to get your attention, then that is really desperate!!!
Just ignore him, you hate his guts and really you have got every reason to ignore him.

Just ignore him. Look, you're saying yourself that he's an idiot. His attitude just shows his lack of respect for girls. Don't waste your time. Stay away from him.

If you really want him to feel that you don't care, then go ahead and act happy for him. Not like overly happy (which would seem weird), but just give him the same reaction as if he told you he got an A on a test, or got a new cell phone. When he mentions his latest hookup or all the girls who are after him, just say, "Oh, cool" or "Wow, that's neat." And then change the subject. That will show him that it doesn't affect you in the least. =]
