Question Posted Wednesday February 13 2008, 2:49 pm

Ok, I didnt make my question clear enough last time and ive changed it a little

first off, should i download lime wire or blubster?

second..i wouldnt burn any cds, i just want to make a playlist [ is this wrong?] [ please tell me]

Should i have limewire or not?

I downloaded Lime Wire!Result!But
everytime i try to search a song it says "lime wire is currently connected to the network.you may not return many results until you are fully connected with the network" and I dont know why!
- i downloaded it perfectly
- internet connection is perfect
- it has downloaded....fully

What could be wrong? how can i fix it

I use LimeWire and Mp3 Rocket. I have yet to get a virus and its my 2nd year using it. However, Since you say that you just want to create a playlist there are websites where you dont even have to download the music. I use Playlist.com. Not only is it any music you want or just a playlist but you can take the playlist you make and post it to your myspace.

Guess what? Limewire crashed my computer twice.

I'd honestly reccommend getting rid of it right away. It's full of spyware and viruses and it's just bad. Download the songs legally (or from someplace safe) instead =]

Fair warning, limewire is a portal through which all manner of viruses can get a foothold in your computer.

Most P2P applications are like this. Also, limewire is very, very trackable and opens you up to the RIAA. The last thing you need is a letter because you downloaded something and a corporation with more money than sense tracked it to your house and decided that your parents don't have enough resources to fight a lawsuit.

Stay away from it IMO

Here is my guide on P2P programs like those:

And here's my guide on being safe on those networks:
[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

Limewire:
-Has more malware(viruses) in the *network*, none in the program itself
-There are much more songs than blubster on limewire
Blubster:
-Is bundled with adware
-You are less likely to get caught illegally downloading with it

I recommend limewire over blubster. If you really want to use blubster, use piolet instead. It connects to the same network as blubster, but you can opt out of the adware (pay attention in the installation):

It's not morally wrong to use limewire, but it is often illegal.

Your firewall is blocking limewire. Disable it in control panel. Some antivirus programs also come with firewalls, check them. If you are sure you have no firewalls, then you have a router and the router is blocking it.

it all depends...most of the people in my school use limewire for free songs on itunes (which is illegal) and they have all ended up with viruses. But if you are using it for the real purposes, and paying there is nothing wrong with that. As for what could be wrong with it...i am honestly not sure, im sorry. But i am going to refer you to the columnist theymos. theymos specializes in computers and computer situations.
