boyfriends' bday present

Question Posted Sunday February 10 2008, 3:06 am

For my birthday, my new bf of only about a week gave me "his heart" supposedly. He knew it was my bday, he was like, ok I know what I'm giving you. But doesn't that seem kind of cheesy? I mean seriously, does he really care about me?

because it is so early in your relationship he probably had no idea what to get you, and didn't know whether it was too early in the relationship to get you a gift. yes, saying that he's giving you his heart is a bit cheesy, but he was probably just trying to be sweet. it's not like he's saying he loves you, he probably just wanted to let you know that he really likes you and wants to be with you. technically there'sno way of knowing for sureif he cares about you so early, but it sounds like he does.

well, he could have just forgot it was your birthday, and tried to cover it up, or he does not know what to get you, or he is broke. i would go out on a date with each other, and just spill information about yourself to him, to give him a better idea of who you are. but for his birthday, i would give him the same gift. let this one slide, and if this continues, maybe you guys should talk to each other about it, have one of your girl friends help him get you something, or just dont get him anything. which ever one you choose.
GoOd LuCk!!!
ps
i think that he cares about you, but maybe he just needs a little over a week. Some guys are just like you. In my opinion, its cheesy, but some guys just dont know better.

Well, there are several reasons that I can think of why he did this.
1- you two just started going out and he is unsure of what to get you because he doesn't know what you like.

2- you two just started going out and he may think it's to soon to get you an actual gift.

3- he watched Big Brother last summer and he saw Nick do that to Danielle and he has no imagination of his own.

4- he could be broke and couldn't afford to get you something.

5- he really forgot it was your birthday.

6- he could actually just be selfish and cheesy.

I would just leave it be. I mean, it would be ackward if you started harping him about his "gift" and you may end up being single and no gifts at all.

BTW- Happy Birthday
