17/f and not sexually active. i keep down there really clean. i know discharge is natural, but after coming off my latest period it has smelled funky for a couple days. it is a little white/clear liquid that smells kinda like meat and cheese. it can't be a yeast infection b/c it doesn't itch! what could this be? what should i do? please don't say ask a doctor, i'm trying to ask a doctor right now
I just wanted to let you know, that it might still be a yeast infection. They don't always have to itch, and can still have a funny smell.
I'd suggest that u go to your local drug store and get a test. They have some that don't always test just for yeast infections. They have different colors that will show what infection you have.

As you get older smelly discharge is common in young women, now is when you really need to take care wash properly in your vagina and change your knickers once discharge as leaked into it. General washing should be extra important scrub it well but gently and wash your hands well after.
Also when your on your period change your pads or tampons regularly as that can sometimes affect your discharge smell as the period smell could still be there.
Holly22co answered Wednesday February 6 2008, 12:03 am: depending on where you are in your cycle, your discharge will look and smell different. it also changes as you get older. i had the same problem, and this is basically what the doctor told me. its just kinda gross to the person its happening to is all. probably no one else can even smell it but you, because everyone is tuned into their own scent, being paranoid about it. weird, i know, but i hope this helps! : [ Holly22co's advice column | Ask Holly22co A Question ]

No one on Advicenators will give you the answers that an experienced doctor can give you.
It says near the bottom that you should consult a doctor if there is:
* Pain
* Itching
* Discomfort
* Rash or sores alone or with a vaginal discharge.
I wouldn't worry now, but if you notice any of those symptoms, you WILL need to go to the doctor. No excuses. [ Sima's advice column | Ask Sima A Question ]
