stamina.

Question Posted Sunday February 3 2008, 1:10 pm

i wanna lose weight, so i go on the elliptical.
but i hear the treadmill is better.
the thing is, i have really bad stamina, i can't run for long periods of time without running out of breath, and i need to improve this a lot, and quickly.
any ideas on how to improve my stamina a lot, and quick, and also just how to lose weight.

thanks.

Ive seen a guy on tv loose like 5 pounds in one workout because he wore ALOT of layers of clothing which made him sweat and loose his water weight. so if you want to loose weight fast thats what i would do. And if you want to build stamina you have to push your self. like say you can run 100yds and then get out of breath well then push yourself to 105 yds and then the next day try 110yds. and just build up to the goal you want to acheive

just run for as much as you can then go to a walk but keep motivated, like say okay when i startt walking it will be for lets say 20 seconds then when the 20 seconds is done get back to running dont procrastinate, your stamina will get better the more you run

Ellipticals are fine.
As for building up your stamina, just run until you can't anymore, and slow down to a walk BUT DON'T STOP. Then, gradually go back to running. You'll see with time that you'll be able to run for longer periods of time. Good luck.
