being tall sucks
I'm about 5' 8" and only in the eighth grade! I know being tall should be a good thing and all that crap, but i just need something to raise my self esteem. Being the tallest in the grade (even above the guys) is never comforting. is there anything you can say to cheer me up? :(

You probably arent going to grow anymore. Girls grow faster than guys. I use to be among the tallest girls in my grade and now im among the shortest. But girl you would be really good for the basketball team. Everyone would love you. you could do jumo ball and be able to get re bounds. And in volleyball you could spike the ball like crazy. You would be a good asset to your schools teams. but dont worry you have probably already reached your height and you arent going to grow anymore.

The good news: you probably won't grow anymore. And you have one more year til high school, where I promise almost all of the guys will be taller than you (5'8" is like short for most guys). And it means you can date cute juniors and seniors instead of awkward freshman guys!
Being tall is seriously a great thing. (And that's coming from someone who used to cry because I hated being tall so much). You have amazing long legs which most girls would KILL for. You can rock miniskirts like no one's business and look great in ballet flats, because honestly, heels make you look like you're trying too hard anyway. And just because of your height, people will assume you're older, definitely a great thing when it comes to cute older guys.
Remember, supermodels are super tall (a 5'8 girl on America's next top model was called short)...and they are some of the most beautiful, wanted women in the world.
Oh, and one more good thing: If you gain weight, it won't show as much as it does on short people.
Enjoy your height. Hating it does you no good.

Have you ever heard the term 'early bloomer'? It's a good thing that you have grown so fast, but It can be awkward. Here's a secret: All the guys will be catching up to, and passing, your height in no time at all! Don't worry... your height is something special and unique to you. Have fun with it while it lasts! but i have one too: i am mediumish-tall (if that makes any sence whatsoever haha) anyway, if you are a sports girl, VOLLEYBALL IS THE SPORT FOR YOU!!!! you will be amazing at it...and boys love girls that play sports<3 Trust me, right now you hate it...but in a year you will absolutely love it, and the boys are SOOOOO much taller than you think! Give it a chance and a try. you never know!

its fine to be tall, my best friend is the tallest in the class and she's a girl. she gets teased a lot but it comes in good advantage. my tacher is short and could not reach the screen to pull down, but my friend reached it and grabed it for her. and she got an award. my mom was the tallest in her 8th grade year. but she's still the same height as she was in 8th grade. so i suggest to ignore it. because it will pay off later. and isn't great to know your uniqe?!?
