illinois drinking laws i was looking at some Illinois drinking articles and i was wondering if its true that it is ok for an adult to give there children alcoholic beverages as long as they are on private property and accompany them

That is correct for most states, including Illinois.

That is correct. In most states(including Illinois) it's legal if a parent gives you alcohol and you are in a private residence(not necessarily your own).
It's not legal, however, for a restaurant of bar to sell you alcohol, even with a parent.

Cupcakesandrayzerblades, the Federal government doesn't have authority to pass laws like that. They threatened the states with budget cuts if they didn't impose a 21-age limit. It was up to the states to make the specific exceptions. ]
Well, technically, it's still against the law, but there's not a whole lot of likelihood of you being arrested.
You never know, though. Parents have even been arrested for letting their teens throw a party where alcohol was involved. ]
I'm not sure about Illinois specifically, but that is true in the majority of states. ]
I don't live in Illinois nor do I know to much about it. But I do know that underage drinking is against the Federal Law.
So I'm pretty sure the federal law applies to Illinois too.
