STD stands for(sexually transmitted diseases)
basically you are having unproteceted sex with some one and they give you a disease.and it passes on to whoever else you have sex with also(unprotected)some can get cured and some cant.and believe me.these diseases are nasty.so be careful when you have sex.the worst i seen so far was syphilis. i mean it is mean. it looks like it is eating up your skin.terribly.i dont know if i spelled it right.but if you really want too.go to google.com type STD's and click images.you will see for yourself.hope i helped.

STD isn't just one thing. There are lots of them.
It's short for sexually transmitted disease.
You can get them through vaginal, anal and oral sex, or even things like using someone elses towel etc if they are unlucky enough to be infected.
You said not to give you a website, but there's too much information to actually type out to you, so I found you a site which is pretty basic and just tells you everything you need to know, including what they are, how you get them, symptoms, how to treat them etc.
It's really useful and packed with information.

Give it a read. :)

STDs are sexually transmitted diseases. You can get them from any contact between a penis and a vagina, a penis and a penis, or a vagina and a vagina. You can also get them from bodily fluids associated with sex.

The most famous STD is HIV, which turns into AIDS over time. You can get it through bodily fluids such as blood or sexual body fluids. Condoms do a lot to protect you from getting HIV or some other STD during sex, which is one of the reasons why it is so important to use them when having sex.
