tampon loser

Question Posted Tuesday January 1 2008, 6:16 pm

I've had my period for about 2 and a half years now (i'm 15) and I've still havent gotten the courage to try tampons. I've actually tried it once but it hurt so badly I cried and had to get my gradma to take it out for me. then another time I had my mom in the same room and have her show me but she didn't really help. then I tried by myself because I thought I had the courage.

The actual problem is that I hate the feeling of something touching my vagina. I know that sounds stupid because people get excited when something is in their vagina. but I touch it with my fingers and it feels so weird and not good. is that normal? How can I put in a tampon if I hate the feeling of something touching me there. Like I can't even get the big part of the tube inside. Not like even an inch because I don't like the feeling.

I also have 1 question= How far are you supposed to put in the bigger part of the tube? People say until you can't no more but how far is that? Theirs like 5 rings on the tube and How do I know when to stop pushing the big part in and push the small part?

I could ask my mom again but she doesn't really help me. Please help!

Oh and I use Playtex Gentile Glide. Is that good for beginners? I heard theres a slim or junior something? Is that good?

I am 15/F like you are and it took me awhile to get the courage to try a tampon. I've tried a couple of times--but I don't really like the feeling. It's possible that you aren't ready for it yet and that's normal. You are 15 and still at a young age. You should only do it when you are ready for it--and don't let others taunt you because of it. I have friends that never used a tampon--totally normal. Use pads until you are comfortable. If you think you are ready it is important to relax. It is possible that your hymen hasn't rupture it yet. I remember I tried insterting a tampon and it hurt like crazy--my hymen hasn't broken yet. There are ways to break it--search online. After that, it should be easier to instert a tampon. Read the instructions to insert a tampon. I recomend slim--I use them and I have a slim body.

i would look on the box for instructions. its really not that hard to use a tampon. you will probably get over the phase of not liking the feeling of something touching you there. it really isnt that big of a deal. you just stick the bigger part of the tube up until it cant go up anymore and then push the small part. its simple. use the slim ones because it sounds like youre having a problem and those will be easier to put in. also, the first person that answered this question is wrong. you dont have to have had sex to use a tampon. all my friends use tampons and they havent had sex..

also try searching 'how to insert a tampon' on google.

good luck <33

Okay, what you need to do first is to chill. It's okay. The tampon isn't leaving your vagina, nor getting stuck inside. Lay down on your bed, and get comfortable. Just relax, and think of tranquil things. Slowly spread your legs, and slowly put the tampon inside about halfway [so that you can grib the tube]. Push the bottom part UP, so that the tube is left in your hands.

Refer to the instructions on the box/inside the box for more specific information.

Make sure that you read the directions right. If you don't like the way thatit feels then try and focus about somthing else and not how wierd it feels. The bigger part should go in until your fingers that are o the applicator touch the area around your vagina. Then use your index finger and push the tube thing until it's completely in. Playtex is a good brand be sure you get the ones for regular absorbency. Slim ones would probably better since the would be smaller and less thick.

Wrong.

You need to have sex before you use a tampon.

(Dont listen to the other advicenators that tell you that you can use a tampon even if you dont have sex, its dangerous, harmfull and they can suck on their tampons).

And no...wimen do not get horny when they use a tampon. And they dont like objects in vaginas.
You need to be in the mood to use objects.

Ask your mom.She can help you way better than random people on the internet. She cares more for you.
