What do you get from being more popular, fashionable, social, wanted, etc., etc.? You get to be at the top of the ladder, beating out all the poor suckers below you. That's really all it means to be envied. Unfortunately in this society, things like this are not looked down upon.
If you want to look good or be more social for YOURSELF, that's one thing. But to do that in order to get people to notice you, or ENVY you, is not "cool," believe me. You will not get anything from it in the long run.
This might not be what you want to hear. I will not tell you to wear the "coolest" clothing or carry the "coolest" cell phone or act "cool". The idea of being "cool," is not cool. If you really want to be well-regarded, and not just for your looks or possessions, then be yourself. But do not do that even to impress others, or get them to be envious of you. Trying to get noticed or stand above the crowd, is only living for other people. [ ciao77's advice column | Ask ciao77 A Question ]
Rosie2000 answered Wednesday December 26 2007, 2:25 pm: i really dont think you should be going for people to envy you. if thats all your looking for in people then your the wrong person for the job. if you want to be more popular it usualy owkrs best when your nice, outgoing, talkitive, and coultured.you have to let YOUR personal character show through. if your jsut looking for peopel to envy and be jealous of you they will see that and turn you down. xxlilreddivaxx answered Tuesday December 25 2007, 9:37 pm: I agree with the person before me. Envy is bad, but I also see where you are coming from. It does feel good when certain people envy you. So make your hair silky and have diff. hairstyles thats are in style. Good makeup (MAC). People are obssessed with materialistic stuff so I guess buy clothing and accesories from some famous brands like Chanel, Coach, etc lol. Popularity can be expensive. But most important (this is something you cannot buy), is your attitude. Nothing makes a person envy you more than having a 'perfect' personality. Smile a lot and act like you are always happy. Thats how I am and I have to admit that some people wish that they were as happy as I am. Just try it. A smile can also brighten up someone's day so they will like you more. Warning: Some people that envy you will treat you like crap. And it does hurt. When they say something rude, just smile at them and leave. They arent worth it.
