Question Posted Wednesday December 5 2007, 7:35 pm
I know that this is probably no worried nothing to be worried about, but...
First off, I'm fourteen/female.
I have some pretty large lumps in one of my boobs. It's hard and I only noticed it today, though I've been having breast pain/soreness for the past week or so. I'm also late on my period, though it's only by a few days.
I know that I'm young so it's probably nothing. But is there anything that this could potentially be, and should I get it checked out?
Foundsoul answered Thursday December 6 2007, 9:08 am: whenever you find a lump in your breast, the first thing you should do is make an appointment with your doctor. It could turn out to be nothing, but it could be something serious that will need to be treated.
orphans answered Wednesday December 5 2007, 11:45 pm: You should get this checked out immediately. It is PROBABLY nothing, but don't count on it. My Dr says breast/genital cancer can begin to develope as soon as 13. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]

You are at an age where your breasts are developing, which may cause soreness and sometimes lumps. Just to be on the safe side, I do recommend going to a doctor and seeking help. But here is a website where you can also do a self exam. (Doctors are better though). You should do this one every few months.
