They decided to show the pilot because it was Halloween, and since most people are out on Halloween -- they didn't want to show a new episode that not a lot of people would get to see.

no, its not cancelled. the episode was done already, and its airing next week at the same time. =]
in my opinion i think they didnt want to make a new episode on halloween because everybody would be out trick-or-treating so nobody would watch it, and that would look really bad since unfortunately, since the first airing of the pilot GG ratings havent been very good. =[
