ok well i really want to lose weight but my mom never buys anything really healthy like instead of getting chipc she could get those 100 claorie pack things but she goes with the chip and it's not helping me at all to lose weight how can i get her to buy better stuff healthier stuff

Tell her how much eating well and being fit means to you, and that you can still have yummy foods without going crazy on the fats, calories, or sugars. Go grocery shopping at a Trader Joe's or a health food store next time. Or if you're old enough, YOU take HER grocery shopping next time. You pick out your foods, and she, her's. If this still isn't enough try to get her on the bandwagon too by cooking dinner one night using all healthy foods like you've been trying to convince her of-but don't tell her til afterwards. If she likes it, it'll probably be enough to get her to try to change too-or at least be more supportive of your choices.
NinjaNeer answered Saturday September 15 2007, 12:05 am: I must say, I agree with your mom. Those 100 calorie packs are just a scam, playing on the weight loss craze. Per unit, they cost an awful lot, considering what they are.
They're nothing new and revolutionary, or even healthy; they're just small bagged portions of snacks. If you like the convenience of not monitoring the amount you're eating, try pre-packaging your own snacks... look at the calorie content of the stuff you have kicking around the house, and put it in little baggies with the right number of calories in them! You can do this with anything... cookies, chips, veggies, fruit, whatever you want.
If you're really into eating healthier, here are some of my favourite snacks:
Peach slices with 1% cottage cheese
Celery with peanut butter
Raisins
Orange slices
Raw broccoli with oil dressing (I eat it intead of chips!)
Homemade popsicles with Crystal Light (calorie free!)

uisforukelele answered Thursday September 13 2007, 9:29 pm: my mom used to do this, and then i started going with her to the grocery store. so next time you're talking to your mom about food or whatever, be like, "can i go to the grocery store with you next time to pick out food?" or even ask her to start making healthier choices at the store. but it's always worked better for me in the past if i go with my mom. also, this is just a little tip, quaker makes this instant oatmeal that has only like 190 calories in it, and it's really filling and nutritious. i have it for breakfast when i have time (which is like never). but yeah, i only ate that and like juice for breakfast for like two weeks and lost a few pounds. i was also exercising, but eating whatever else i wanted during the day. so if you want to lose weight, it helps to get on a schedule like that :) [ uisforukelele's advice column | Ask uisforukelele A Question ]

When you pass by the chip isle show her the 100 calorie packs- and tell her they would be good vote school , or a sport.
