A good sad book for a boy and girl

Does anyone know a good sad book for a boy and girl, im not a reader, so please tell me a good one, and not hard. a book that a middle schooler could read!

Yes a book which is my favorite it's called "Lucas" by Kevin Brooks which is about a teenage girl who meets up with a guy named Lucas who has similar troubled things they have gone through,she has a boy harasssing her,a friend who is in a lot of danger,for this girl she,Lucas suffer greatly throughout the story it's very touching.

"Phoenix Rising" by Karen Hesse is really sad and I read it while I was in elementary school so its not very hard

Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold is a very sad book but also very intersting, It will start off with a horrible incident then continue to illustrate the effects on all characters including the victom. I think you will enjoy this book, it is a fun, easy read.

To "Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee of course is very sad, you probably have already read it, but in case you havent you might want to check it out. The story occurs during the Great Depression era so the language can be tricky, however, i think it is definatly worth it! This book is definatly a good book for someone in middle school and everyone.

I am not familiar with certain books boys might enjoy, though maybe "A Separate Piece" by John Knowles. It is about teenage boys during ww2 and their relationships, opinions, and feelings about the economy and the issue of being drafted. Its major themes are innocence and guilt. I read this book as a sophmore however it is very short and it goes by fast.

Twilight! Its a love story pretty much and I and almost everyone I know who read it cried. It's really good, and if you like it alot you can read the next two books in the series. =) Oh and its not hard to read
