New School.

Question Posted Wednesday August 22 2007, 1:11 pm

I'm going to a new school. And the school I use to go to I went to my whole life. And the new school I don't know anyone there. I'm people have told me I'm shy. I know I'm shy, unless the people I'm hanging out with are friends, around my friends I'm like really LOUD. The promblem is that how do I make new friends at a new school. I'm going to be going into 9th grade,so I'm starting a new school at high school. Could anyone help me? Like give me tips on how to become not as shy and talk to people without being so shy about? If you understand what I'm asking,ha.
Thank you.

i have the same problem :[ uhmm try..talking to the person that has the locker next to you. or in your homeroom or any of your classes, but some of the kids will just come up to you and ask where your from etc. try asking if they have a myspace or if they use AIM/aol or whatever? lol. its really not that bad. this is my third time switching schools lol.

wow i was in that situation last year. i had to move to a whole another state -.-

ok well what i did was, i started talking to the people around me. first i asked for small stuff.. like.... maybe ask for their myspace or something about the class. online is definately the way to go to bond.. kind of.. you don't wanna just come out of nowhere. i didn't really try to make new friends but there was this girl that came up to me in lunch cuz we were in the same math class. so, you don't have to be always the one that's trying to get to know ppl. but just start talking and ask about their interests... you'll get along quickly.

Well you are really lucky that it's freshman year... most people want to make friends and there a lottt of new kids. most of your classes will be kinda quiet ini the beggining if its anything like my school but just talk to people when you are working in groups or be like hey wanna sit together at lunch? or what lunch do you have? I switched to a new school in the middle of my sophomore year so i knowwww it's hard to not be shy around new people. just don't be mean and you'll be fine. <3

What you need is to talk to others who sure aren't with company or that seem willing to want to talk which makes it easier, classmates even better so you don't get bored during classes.Like say hi my name is...what's your name,I am a freshman, what are you, then talk about what you think of the school so far and continue your conversation from there.
