If leaving a tampon in for too long can cause TSS, then why cant pulling one tampon out, and then imediately putting another one in not cause TSS? It's essentially the same thing, isnt it?
kittaytoro answered Saturday August 4 2007, 4:02 pm: hey,
actually, it's not essentially the same thing. :P
this is because the only reason TSS is caused, is because of the blood being set, and bacteria forming. so, if you change the tampon every few hours, there's less of a chance for bacteria to form and make you sick!
hottie411 answered Saturday August 4 2007, 3:49 pm: You get TSS from when you're blood and stuff starts growing bacteria on it, so if you switch tampons, then it wouldn't be on there.
that's why you needa change tampons every time you go to the bathroom hun.
Erinn_the_bamf answered Saturday August 4 2007, 2:28 pm: No, it's not the same. The blood and other wastes on the tampon staying in your body for too long cause TSS. Therefore, a clean one wouldn't have blood on it and wouldn't cause TSS. [ Erinn_the_bamf's advice column | Ask Erinn_the_bamf A Question ]
KellyHappy answered Saturday August 4 2007, 1:54 pm: no, tss is an infection.
if you leave on in, then the blood/ urine on it will get old. and will sstart to grow bacteria and stuff.
but if you put a new one in, then its clean. [ KellyHappy's advice column | Ask KellyHappy A Question ]
