ok..so if you straighten your hair like evreyday..or almost everyday..will your hair be like gross and damaged? and if it does happen how long does it take? because i straightened my hair for a whole semester like everday! and this week i straightened it everyday! so what happens?
ASAPcamille answered Sunday July 29 2007, 2:11 pm: It will have a lot of damage. Try products that protect from the high temperatures of straightening and blowdrying. Your hair will still have damage, but not as much. [ ASAPcamille's advice column | Ask ASAPcamille A Question ]
LOL_x0x answered Sunday July 29 2007, 11:23 am: It will damage it, but you'll be fine if you use protective products. Look for a shampoo & comditioner that says 'for damaged hair'. I don't think yours would be damaged too badly though, because you haven't been straightening it for like, years.
advicer answered Sunday July 29 2007, 2:48 am: It doesn't really damage it, as long as you use products to protect it. Right after I take a shower, I put a spray in it [V05 is good]. Then, I brush it, and put in a creme [I think it's by Studioline, but anything would work, really]. It also helps protect it. I don't straigten my hair as much in the summer, only when I'm going out, but in the school year, I straighten it almost everyday, and no damage was done on my hair. Like the others said, use a good shampoo and conditioner to also help keep it healthy and you should be fine. [ advicer's advice column | Ask advicer A Question ]
xXxPuNki-PiXiExXx answered Sunday July 29 2007, 2:20 am: straightening your hair everyday over a long period of time does leave you with split and dry ends. I straighten my hair alot and it's not that bad i've been straightening it regularly over about 2 years and it does get damaged unless you give your hair a break now and then and use proper hair products such as good quality shampoo and conditioner. I got blonde streaks in my hair and because the bleach dried it up and i was straightening my hair the ends were really dry and horrible but i got a trim and my hair was back to normal. If your using a good quality hair straightener and using leave-in conditioner before or after u use it, your hair won't be that bad. It can also get frizzy so try to evenly spread out your days so you could straighten your hair for 3 days and maybe leave it for like 3 or 5 days. hollisterhottie answered Sunday July 29 2007, 2:15 am: nothing really horrible wil happen to your hair if you straighten it alot. It just kinda depends on wat kind of straightener you have. if you have like a chi then it's not bad, but if you have a cheep straightener it causes more damage. Also, never straighten your hair when it's wet! that burns it and it's horrible for your hair. All it does to your hair when you straighten it to much is sometimes burns it and that's basically it. Just use good repairing shampoo and it's fine! i hope i helped! best of luck! [ hollisterhottie's advice column | Ask hollisterhottie A Question ]
