hey. i'm 13 and i just started getting my period this year. just recently, my last few periods have been making me feel absolutely horrible. i feel as if i need to puke, my back always hurts, and i go to the bathroom alot more often then usual(i'm sorry, i know that's disgusting, but it might help?)
i was wondering if there's anything i can do on my own without going to a doctor, or if this is atleast normal.
ImFakingHotPink answered Wednesday July 18 2007, 12:18 am: i never got pain from my periods but my mom would get head aches, back aches, bloat, hunger swings, everything. your doctor will probably proscribe you some perscription pain meds but what worked for her was to just take an Advil Liquid Jel, it really took away her pains.
There is also another product which i am not personally familiar with but.. Midol is a medicine a lot of women take on their periods to lessen the pains. Go to your Safeway/WalGreens and ask the people who work at the pharmacy if they would recomend it. [ ImFakingHotPink's advice column | Ask ImFakingHotPink A Question ]

The downside of taking the pills is that you can gain up to 20 pounds as well... :(
I don't think that periods are meant to be that bad, so seeing a doctor about this is your best bet. They will give you a proper diagnosis that is most likely better than someone telling you how to make your period better on the internet.
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help, but seeing a doctor is your best bet.
