If you were really ready to have sex for the first time, you wouldn't be asking a bunch of strangers if they think you're ready to have sex. If you absolutely feel ready to take this big of a step, then go for it, but just be safe.
But DO NOT have sex with him or do anything sexual with him if you think you have to just so he won't lose interest. If he's going to lose interest just because you won't give him your body, then he's not worth it and there are about six million other ones out there in the world that could be.
