Poser means to pretend to be something you're not.

Usually posers are fake & you can point one out super easy or at least I can... Anyways, if you're a skateboarder but you're trying to be Paris Hilton, you would be a poser.

Always be yourself. There's no one else you should be but just that.

basically a poser can be

someone who pretends to be something they are not

or a poser-model way, like in a photo you always need to look like a model or you pull funny faces or actions in your pics

Dictionary.com

Poser-
1. a person who habitually pretends to be something he is not [syn: poseur]
2. a person who poses for a photographer or painter or sculptor; "the president didn't have time to be a model so the artist worked from photos" [syn: model]
3. a particularly difficult or baffling question or problem

Basically when someone uses the term poser, its someone who is acting like someone/something he or she is not. They are trying to be something they aren't.

-hope that helped!♥

posing is based off stereotype. look at the categories.
Prep, jock, thug, goth, emo, nerd.
A scenario would be. Someone that you KNOW would wear abercrombie is walking around in hot topic clothes, listening to music like HIM just so a certain crowd will accept them.

You see it more with teens that sag their pants to make people think they are a thug from the "hood" , when in reality they live in a million dollar house, with rich parents.

It's someone who poses, and the definition of pose is : to affect an attitude or character usually to deceive or impress.
