vegan/vegetarians

Question Posted Thursday July 5 2007, 10:35 pm

I have two friends who have decided to become vegans/vegetarian. Please tell me if theres a difference. I've heard there is but I'm not very educated on this type of stuff. Also, thay keep telling me that being a vegetarian is way more healthy. I don't think thats true because they don't get protein from meat. I respect they're lifestyle choice and I'm not trying to say that they're wrong or anything like that but is it really healthier or what?
kthnx for the help,

Vegans do not eat any animal products. Meaning: Milk, came out of a cow. They will not drink milk because it's from an animal. Eggs come from chickens and they will not eat that.

They do not eat meat, seafood, or any animal products which is mainly dairy products.

Some vegetarians are different. Some will not eat only RED meat, but will eat poultry (chicken). and fish. Some will not eat poultry or red meat but will eat fish. And then some will not eat any of those 3.

Either way, it's really not healthy. Everything they are eating to get protien and calcium is synthetic. Which is just gross. God put them on the planet for a reason! It's called the food chain.

Vegas do not eat anything made from an animal, nor do they wear anything made from an animal.

A vegetarian doesn't eat meat. So, there is quite the difference.

In my opinion, I think & more than likely know that be a vegetarian is more healthy. When not eating anything made from animal AT ALL, you're losing a lot more proteins & nutrients, so vegans are more unhealthy than vegetarians are.

So, there's a huge difference & if you need anymore information, never forget to try & search Google.

There is a big difference.
Vegans don't eat any animal products. Milk, eggs, meat, etc. They also don't wear animal products.
Fur, leather, etc.
Vegetarians only stay away from meat.
And there's even more differences when you decided to what extent you want to go to.
For example, some vegetarians only don't eat red meat. Some stay away from meat altogether.
They can both be healthy, as long as you keep getting the vitamens you need.
If you want more info, I'd highly reccomend going to: www.peta2.com
Sorry if I ramlbed on a little,
I somewhat recently got into all this stuff and decided to share it with you? =]
Hope it helps!

Ok vegetarians dont eat meat but they eat vegetables, fish and dairy products.
Vegans on the other hand dont eat ANY dairy products so no cheese or milk or yogurt only vegetables.

They don't get protein from meat but they get it from other foods like soy and stuff. Its personal opinion of what is a healthier lifestyle. Its healthier in the way they are getting more vegetables in them but its healthier for you to eat meat as meat provides majour sustinance in our bodies. If you eat responsibly on whatever diet you are on, then your healthy. So, both of you are having a healthy lifestyle choice.

Well, vegans don't eat or wear any animal products. Vegetarians don't eat meat, but they generally eat dairy and eggs and stuff.

You just have to adjust your diet. I've been a vegetarian for over 14 years, and my health is fine.

There are other things besides meat that give us vital protein.
