haleys411 answered Wednesday July 4 2007, 11:08 am: i have brown eyes and heres what i use: ((it definatly makes them stand out))
-black eyeliner on the upper lid
-white eyeliner on the inside of the lower lid (it makes eyes bigger and hides eye redness)
-brown eyeshadow (but other good colors for brown eyes are: purple, grey, and orangy tones)
-black mascara
leLovely answered Tuesday July 3 2007, 11:11 pm: Try using bright, different colors other than brown or black for your eyeliner. Try teal or turquoise. I used to do that, and I have brown eyes. It actually looks pretty cool. Now I use a sandy-whitish shimmer eyeshadow and swipe it on my bottom lid before I put mascara on my bottom eyelashes. Finding a good mascara that really lengthens and defines your eyelashes really works, too. [ leLovely's advice column | Ask leLovely A Question ]

i have brown eyes as well, and i know what you can do.
i don't suggest doing the smoky eye look because it doesn't look good with girls who already have dark eyes. it looks good with girls who have bright blue, green, hazel eyes & dark hair.
i suggest -
- black eyeliner. a little bit on the lower lash, and a little on the top.
- white / light colored eye shadow on the lids. that way, your brown eyes will really stand out in comparison to dark brown eye shadow, which will just take over everything.
- eye-lash curler. it makes your lashes look so much longer and brightens up your whole face.
- mascara. a nice, dark mascara always makes your eyes stand out. it just highlights your entire eye.
all in all, you want your whole face light EXCEPT you want your eyelashes & eyebrows very dark so they're highlighted, and your eyes stand out. use an eyebrow pencil if necessary. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
Ashumms answered Tuesday July 3 2007, 10:21 pm: I have brown eyes too and I find it really hard finding makeup tips to make them stand out but without it my eyes are kind of just 'blah'.
I like to do a smoky eye but not with really dark colors so it doesn't overpower my entire face.
I either use green or brown tones. The green tends to bring out my eyes more though because its kind of contradictory.
With the green, I line my eyes with a charcoal liner, but right on the lower lash line and just a thin line on the upper lids. I smudge it with a q tip to make it a little lighter to blend in with the shadow but makes my lashes look darker. Use a flesh tone shadow on your top lids first, then use whatever green shadows that you like best. Use the lightest one to brush over the entire lid, then the next darkest one to blend into the outer crease, then the darkest one over the eyeliner line you made earlier and blend upward. Do the same thing on the bottom lids and blend downward. Then apply mascara and you're done.
With the brown, I do the same thing with the eyeliner but I use a dark brown almost black liner. Do the same thing with the flesh colored shadow on the top lids. Do the same thing with the three shades of brown you like best. Blend the shadow into your eyeliner so it kind of mixes together and apply mascara.
Using white eyeliner on the inside of your eyelids will bring out your eyes much more also. Curling your upper lashes will make them stand out more too. Just make sure you do that before you put on your eye makeup so it doesn't smudge it.
