RUMORS! :'(

Question Posted Monday June 25 2007, 6:21 pm

14/f

I put a video on youtube of me dancing, but i took it off. A ton of people saw it- and this one guy told a bunch of people that it was a video of me STRIPPIPNG! Then this one girl who was told that told EVERYONE else! Now everyone in my dance studio thinks i'm some stripper whore.

What can I do about this? i feel terrible and guilty. and i'm not even a stripper!

First off, don't let rumors get to you. They will tear you apart left and right if you let them. YOU know you aren't a stripper. That's all that really matters if you think about it.

And think about it, if the video wasn't vulgar or remotely considered "stripping" then ask people to watch the video. That way they will know you aren't stripping.

you know what is true and what is not. try telling them that you are not a stripper and if they don't believe you... hold your head high and don't look back. pretend you dont have a clue what everyone is talking about.
let me know if this helped.

If your dance studio thinks you're a stripper whore, show them the video so they can see for themselves. That way, they will realize that the dancing you did was not stripping.

As for the people spreading rumors about you, confront them and tell them to shut the hell up. They have no right to spread lies about you.

YouTube does not let you post videos of nudity, so that doesn't make sense that you posted a video like that.

Just let it go. You know the truth, they don't. And if anyone asks you about it, just tell them you were dancing. If they don't believe you, tell them you don't care if they believe because you know what really happened.

Aw girl that sucks!!! but the only thing i can tell you is not to care. and i know you do, but don't show it. if someone says something to you about it, dont get mad just be like "i wasn't stripping and i cant believe people are saying that. its so sad people are so immature" and walk away. The less attention you give it, the less attention other people will give it. They just want a reaction out of you and if you don't give it to them, they'll move on to some other poor girl that has rumors going around about her. Just be classy and the bigger person!

First of all, you have nothing to feel guilty about. They are the ones that have absolutely no life, or they wouldn't spend all their time talking bad about you. That is pathetic.

But onto your problem, don't get all upset. Tell them calmly that it was actually a video of you dancing, not stripping. If they don't believe you, show them the video.

If this doesn't work and they still keep going on about you being a stripper, just blow it off. Gossipers get really frustrated when the people they are spreading rumors about don't seem to care at all. When confronted about it, just say something like, "Wow, that is so sweet that you care so much about me that that's all you want to talk about." Or, "Wow, I can't believe that your life is so boring that you can't find anything to talk about but me."

Hope this helps.

Cux answered Monday June 25 2007, 7:30 pm:
As I see it, you have two options:

1. You can ignore what people are saying, and don't let it get to you. If people see that their nasty comments don't bother you, they won't say anything much longer. Trust me. People stopped making up rumors about me after they realized it didn't bother me anymore.

OR

2. You can set people straight and tell them that it was just of you dancing. You could also go straight to the source and tell the guy that he's lying. Maybe he didn't even know that he was hurting you. But, he probably did, and he needs to be told that he was wrong, regardless. Set the record straight, and tell him not to mess with you.

That's annoying as hell. People should seriously get lives.
You should put the video back up & tell everyone to watch it to prove that you weren't stripping.

Make the other people look stupid.
