Question Posted Sunday June 24 2007, 11:40 pm

can you use a tampon when you dont have your period? maybe so that you can get used to the fact of wearing it and letting your vagina spread for it i guess?

no that is not a very good idea...you can get tss and it is not good at all for your body..just wait and use a tampon when you are on your period..you will be fine..because when you are on your period, you dont even feel the tampon..so dont worry..
hope this helps!=)

It's not the best idea. I dont know why you'd want to. Honestly, I used tampons from age 8 and didnt lose my virginity till i was 16 and the tampon made no difference what so ever in the size of my vigina. I still bleed my first time and it was still painful. I dont know if that was your reasoning behind using one while you went on your period but thats about the only rason that popped into my head.

Also you've got a high risk of getting TSS if you are using a tampon while not on your period...The tampon is use to soaking up blood and then it's not as toxic to your body but when it's just sitting in there not soaking up anything it's dangerous...

PS. i hope i helped

Well, it's probably *possible* to use a tampon when you don't have your period... but it's definitely not a good idea! Especially if you haven't used one before.

For one thing, it would be very difficult to put in. When you have your period, things are slippery and that makes it a lot easier to put the tampon in. And even if you could get it in, it would be really hard to get out. When you have your period, the tampon gets slippery and slides right out. But if it's dry, it will stick to the walls of your vagina, and that makes it very difficult and painful to remove.

Just wait until you have your period, and pick a day when you have some time and nothing major going on, and experiment with the tampon then.

hey

well you CAN but if you're trying to 'get practice' for trying it later, i wouldn't suggest it.

tampons slide in easiest & hurt the least when inserted when the period is very heavy. if you do it when it's dry, it will really hurt... and be uncomfortable.

try tampons when you have your period. they'll spread then.
