posture 14/f
I have a really bad posture. My mom says that my shoulder are rolled over so my shoulder blades stick out. i try so hard to keep a good posture so my back is straight, but i'm always slumping over.
How do i fix this?

like everyone said practice! in ballet to improve our posture we used duck tape and made a big X on our back from shoulder to hip. that way whenever your shoulders are rolled over the tape is really uncomfortable. it sounds really wierd but in a week my posture improved soo much!
hope this helps and good luckk!

There is actually a quite simple excercise that you can do daily, and it will improve your posture fairly quickly:
stand with your back to the wall
bend your knees (not a whole lot, just slightly), and press your back, shoulders, and head into the wall... your legs should be as straight as possible, but still having your whole back touching the wall
take your arms and press them into the wall, keeping them at a 90 degree angle. (so basicly the hairy part of your arms are touching the wall, the 90 degree angle is on the inside of your elbow)
move your ams up and down, like you're making a snow angel.
do ten or so repetitions, always keeping your back flat and pressed into the wall, along with your shoulders and head (take out any ponytails and buns)
I used to have the same problem you had, and I went to a physical therapeaust (sp?) because I started getting shoulder problems.. but I also swim.
If any of this didn't make sense, let me know, and I will revise this so that you can understand it better =) ]
Practice makes perfect. When I was in chorus we have these crazy chairs where the back was straight up so you had to have perfect posture to sit in them. I'm not sure where you could buy them, but they would be of great help to you.
When ever you go to sit down try and make sure they're sitting up, back straight.
It's a tricky thing to do, but once you get used to it then you'll be fine. It helps a LOT in the long run too. People with good posture have less back problems. That's probably a "duh" statement haha, but still, I figured I'd share =D. ]
Practice! Whenever you are sitting down, straighten your back up and push your shoulders back. After a while, you won't even need to think about it, you'll just immediately keep your shoulders back. ]
