your GPA is your grade point average. on every report card it should show your GPA. this is a way of showing how good your grades are. 4 equals an "a" average, 3 equals a "b" average, 2 equals a "c" average, and 1 equals a "d" average. your GPA is calculated like this: for every "a" you get in a class you get four points, "b" is three points and so on. then you take the total number of points and divide it by the number of classes you have. this will give you your GPA. ]
Your GPA is an important number. It tells you and the school, how well you are doing. Each course is usually worth 3 credits, if you pass the course you get the three credits, BUT whether or not you got a A in the class or a C will determine what your Grade Point Average is.
An A is worth 4 in grade point average and a B is worth 3 and a C is worth 2, etc. etc.
I think the average and it is also acceptable to have a 2.5 or better. Anything over three is excellent. and if you have a 4.0 grade point average, that means you have received a perfect A in each of your classes.

GPA is your grade point average. You find it by averaging all your final grades [I believe; some colleges may average each term, but I doubt it].
Like, your GPA for the year, they'd calculate by adding together all the grades for all your classes, then dividing by the number of classes. A lot of higher-level classes are graded at different weights- an honors history class, for example, may add 10 points to your final average for the purpose of calculating your GPA.
hope I helped! :) ]
