I assume you are a teen since you used the term "young age." As such, wait until two weeks after a missed period to take an at home pregnancy test. However, the morning after pill is very effective an it is unlikely you are pregnant. You can take the morning after pill up to three days after intercourse, but you took it immediately after sex. Because your period is two weeks away you are likely not yet ovulating, so what the morning after pill will do for you is 1) Keep you from ovulating (your egg will not be released) or 2) delay ovulation by altering your menstrual cycle. In cases where the first two actions fail, the fertilized egg dies before it attaches to the lining of the uterus.

The best time to take a pregnancy test and get an accurate, reliable reading, if you are a teen, is AT LEAST two weeks past your period's due date. One week if you are an adult.

Reason being, because a teen's menstrual cycle is not likely regulated, for starters.

Mainly because you have to allow your body enough time to produce enough of the pregnancy hormone to have it show up in your urine. It is the hormone that gives you the result on the test, of course.

Pregnancy tests are more apt to give a false negative than a false positive, because the positive result is 99% accurate, but a negative can come up if the test is taken too early.

Now, I'm not sure how the morning after pill works on your body, because I'm not down with that, (though I don't judge you for it) so I can't tell you what the pill will do to your menstrual cycle.

Your best bet is if you aren't pregnant (which I would assume you aren't, but ANYTHING is possible) you should get on birth control. You should ALWAYS use a condom- birth control or no- to protect yourself against nasty STDs, such as HIV/AIDS. And to protect yourself against pregnancy if you don't use birth control.

RELAX. STRESS CAN MESS WiTH YOUR PERiOD, & MAKE iT LATE, WHiCH'LL ONLY CAUSE MORE STRESS. =] THE MORNiNG AFTER PiLL iS EXTREMELY EFFECTiVE, BUT YOU CAN TAKE A PREGNANCY TEST AS EARLY AS A WEEK AFTER CONCEPTiON. (BUT HOPEFULLY THERE iS NO CONCEPTION.) YOU MiGHT WANT TO TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT BiRTH CONTROL, OR EVEN GO TO YOUR LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT. & USE A CONDOM. BC iSN'T ALWAYS RELiABLE. i HOPE EVERYTHING TURNS OUT OKAY. =]

The morning after pill is extremely effective, especially since you took it so soon after having sex. You most likely dont have anything to worry about. The problem is though, it kinda throws your hormones out of whack. You period could come sooner or later than it usually would, and I don't know how accurate a pregnancy test would be.

Your getting to excited when you really don't have to worry until you are supposed to get your period. Take the pregnancy test if you miss your period. & calm down, i'm sure if you used protection, and took the pill everything will be alright. Just go on with your normal schedule and forget about it. Any girl who has had sex goes through this and you shouldnt have anything to worry about.
