going anerexic?

Question Posted Sunday May 20 2007, 10:29 am

Well one time I was wokring on my project so hard that I skipped lunch. The day after, I wasn't even hungry at lunch time anymore and no matter how hard I try to eat, my tummy won't let me.

I just don't feel hungry anymore, i feel so full all the time and now it takes me an hour to eat my dinner.

Something wrong?

if this has just been over the past few days, you might be sick. see if you have any simptoms because when your sick, you lose your apetite.

also, stress can make you not hungry. its the end of school, we all have finals, your probably stressed out. maybe try to relax.

maybe your not getting enough sleep and its macking you nocious.

maybe you really are anorexic.

either way, you should keep an eye on things. see if you get yor apetite back. try eating your favorite foods. talk to your mom about it maybe?

I agree with the others. It doesn't sound like anorexia to me. The thing that you have to remember about anorexia is that it's largely psychological. You THINK you're fat, you THINK you have to starve yourself, and that's why you deliberately avoid eating most of the time. You're trying to eat, even though you don't want to, so I don't think you've developed some kind of eating disorder.

It sounds like you're suffering from some type of loss of appetite. Are you taking any medication? If you are, you might want to check out the side effects. Loss of appetite is a common side effect caused by medication, because something in the medication can act as an appetite supressant, causing your body to sometimes feel like it isn't hungry. Are you experiencing a lot of stress? Stress can also suppress your appetite, as well as depression.

As far as the solution goes... I agree with the others as well. Try to keep eating and go see a doctor.

lbwhite89 is sooo right with her answer. How do I know? I was anorexic so I know what it means to be it.

I currently have kind of been the same way as you. The whole not very bungry, barely eating, taking forever to eat a meal type of thing. I'm also currently sick though. Not sick to my stomach, but still, I'm sick. I'm actually going to the doctor later today. It's a good question I could bring up when I'm there.

Anyway, you're not anorexic, that's a definite. What you're feeling is something felt when someone who is anorexic has been so for a while.

Anyway, it could be an illness coming on (ya know, like you may be getting sick). Or you may just not be hungry.

If you continuously just can't eat, aren't ever hungry, etc. SEE A DOCTOR. It's always better to be safe. There could be something wrong. But if you find your appetite starting to return - good.

If you find yourself in a loopy pattern, i.e losing your appetite, gaining it back, losing it again, gaining it back again, etc. then see a doctor for that too. .

Something may be wrong, but anorexia isn't it.

Like both lbwhite89 and I have said, see a doctor if your appetite doesn't come back soon. Also, continue trying to eat at least breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Even if you eat smaller portions, eat something. Plus, drink a lot of water during the day. I'm having a problem with that right now where I'm never thirsty and becoming dehydrated, it's also why I'm sick. I don't want you to feel as crappy as I do now, so try and eat 3 meals a day (even if their small) and drink as much water and/or milk as you can each day.

If you're honestly TRYING to eat, you're not anorexic. I've skipped lunch because I was busy before, it's not that big of a deal. The definition or anorexia is that you don't eat in order to not get fat...not because you always feel full.

I've felt like crap all this week and barely ate anything because of it, so I know how you feel. It could be that you're getting sick...maybe a stomach virus or something.

If it goes on for another week or so, try going to the doctor to see what they say. You should be fine, but it's better safe than sorry.
