first boy/girl party

Question Posted Tuesday May 15 2007, 2:54 pm

I was thinking about throwing my first boy/girl kinda party. I'm 14/f and I have a pool, so I wanted to have a kind of pool/summer party. I need advice about how to exactly organize the party so everyone will have fun and what to eat and drink. How long should it be? What are activites boys and girls both enjoy? Do I just invite the people, they come, and do their own thing? Help; I've never done this before and I need advice!!!

If you are choosing a Summer Pool Party, begin with what time it should begin. Your party should be a open house party where anyone can come at any time and leave at anytime. A good time to begin it is early afternoon to dawn- this time is when the hottest part of the day.
Next is the food, and activities. For food, finger hand foods are the best for teenager children. small sandwiches are good. Small candy like M&Ms. You know. Never bring a lot because children never really eat at parties. For the drinks, children love pop. Also have water. Buy can pop and have a cooler with ice. Buy plastic cups, plates (Prefer small), and some napkins for any messes. One key is try to have an OUTSIDE party.
Next is activites. Tell everyone to bring their swimsuits! If you have a video game, have that too...maybe you can play it in a family room or basement if you have it. Video games keep the guys busy. Next, is of course, a boombox or whatever they call it. Everyone loves to dance! Karoke is very fun for teenager girls (sometimes boys) and have a stereo.
Of course you have the swimming. That is about it. Remember to buy a cute outfit! THe hostess much look good. If this is an expensive idea, e-mail me back and I'll find out a cheaper way.

Goodness hunny, take a deep breath everything will be fine :) haha a pool/summer party is a good idea, and just think of the parties you've been at. You mostly have pizza and pop. So you can have pizza (or any other kind of food that a lot of people like) and pop, water, juice..w/e floats ur boat :) I would say it should be somewhere are like 4 hours. And just put some tunes on, maybe put a volleyball net up, or anything you enjoy doing. And yeah..you pretty much invite the people, they come, and they can find w.e they want to do..pretty much. haha
well i hope everything goes well, its nothing to sweat about just have fun!

to invite people just email or shove invintations in lockers. most people usually come. have loud music and dont run out of music. get lotsa 2 liter bottles of soda and water bottles. get lotsa cake junk food chips and BBQ. waterguns and balloons. make it around 5 to 11 pm. get games. people do their own thing usually ends up kissing games or anything. people will find something to do as long as you have good music no slow junk. try rock evanescence or the used or anything like that. people will allhave fun unless theres parents and its all planned and has a scedule eww. youll always have the drama be ready. you could do airsoft or paintball too i love thoes partys playing shooting people and running through the woods and the pouring rain and the mudd thats my kinda party then go in to eat BBQ and play Xbox dare and crank up the music and get the guitars.

Lets see....I'm 16 years 9ld and host a few parties every now and then. Pool parties never get old and can be a ton of fun if you plan things right. Now, first I'd start off with the invitations. Think about how many people you want to come...you set of friends or the whole grade....how many people would your parents want? These are things you and your mom and/or dad should discuss. Once you figure out the amount, you can move onto the details; such as time, place....etc. Invitations can be written out by hand or typed out...you should have something basically but pretty like time....place...and dont forget to add your number so people can RSVP.
After invitations you can get into the party itself. You can start off with music! I'd have a variety of music so everybody will have something to listen to. Great food options are chips, cookies, sodas, maybe little subs but nothing too heavy because people will be in the water. I'd have the party last for maybe 2 to 4 hours. Honestly the question about what should they do...usually guys will be the first in the pool and people will eventually follow. Maybe if your parents dont mind, people can come inside and watch tv if they are tiring of swimming....I'm not too surer about that because everybodys different but in general kids just hang oiut by the pool and talk...etc.

I hope this helps. If ya want to know anything more my email is angelicflutist@yahoo.com. Have fun and don't worry!!

What a great idea! I'm sure you guys will have a great time. I'd say ask your friends what kinds of snacks they want, like maybe pretzels and chips and dip or whatever...maybe try mozzarella sticks for a meal (because people don't really need a plate for them...save a tree, lol) and just try to keep yummy hand-held food near your pool so people can be in the pool or out of the pool but still all be in talking range. Maybe 2-3 hours would be good....races in the pool are always fun (and if u like one of the guys you're going to invite, maybe try piggy-back races in the pool? That could be fun for you. Also it's fun in general even if you don't like that person). Marco Polo? Monkey in the middle (but put more than one person in the middle?) I dont know. Whatever you guys are into. I'd say don't send out invitations, but mention it to the people at school, or if you want, type up a really brief invitation. But dont buy those ones that say "You're Invited!!!!!" on the front because that's kind of young. Either way, relax, because a pool party is ment to be relaxed and fun...and refreshing. I hope I helped, and have a great time!
