My phone has water damage...

Question Posted Sunday April 29 2007, 7:54 pm

My phone has water damage because it accidentally went through the wash! I'm so miserable! Anyway, I'm wondering if I can get an upgrade earlier than the due date...real early. My upgrade time is in December and it is only May! Do I have to wait until I get an upgrade or is there another idea I can do so I don't have to wait that long!
Thanks!!! Oh yeah, I have T-Mobile and my phone is as Motorola Razr v3

You can't upgrade or exchange. Insurance only covers lost phones, or phones that have been dropped a lot & really don't work anymore. I don't believe that water damages are covered under insurance. If they're not, you need to buy a new phone at full price. You might want to check the website or the store you bought it from & talk to someone there since they know what they're doing, and talking about.

Also, make sure you check everything on your clothes before you put them in the wash to avoid your money, pens, paper & phones to go through it.

Cell phone companies are known for screwing you out of money. In these types of situations, they tend not to leave you a way out. That's how they make most of their money. They get away with it because they put all of this in contracts that you sign.

There is some hope though. If you have an old phone you can probably switch back to that one for the time being until December. I know that Verizon will let you do that, I would imagine that T-Mobile would too.

I hope that you figure something out! Good luck.

Your question is on the T-Mobile site.

I copied & pasted this from the site-

"My Phone Has Physical or Liquid Damage. What Should I Do?

If your phone has physical or liquid damage, it is not eligible for our exchange program. The best option for you depends on whether you have equipment protection insurance or if you qualify for a discounted handset upgrade.

If your phone is damaged, contact Customer Care."

Here is the customer care website-

-hope that helped!♥
